Product Description

Product Description

The Dripless C100 Consumer Grade Smooth Round Rod Cradle Frame caulking gun has a steel half-barrel frame that fits 10 oz. cartridges and has a 5:1 thrust ratio for use with latex, acrylic, and silicone. The smooth pressure rod requires less force and is quieter than a ratchet-style pressure rod. The hook on the back allows it to hang on a ladder.

Caulking guns, also called caulk or cartridge guns, dispense a controlled flow of products such as caulk, sealants, and adhesives from a tube or cartridge. A manual caulking gun consists of a frame which holds the tube, a trigger, and a rod which moves forward when the trigger is depressed, dispensing the product. Manual caulking guns have a thrust ratio; the higher the thrust ratio, the easier it is to dispense the caulk, sealant, or adhesive. Air-powered or pneumatic caulking guns also have a frame and a trigger, but are used with an air pressure regulator that pushes the product from the tube using air pressure instead of a rod.

Dripless, Inc. manufactures caulking guns and caulking and painting accessories. The company, founded in 1992, is headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA.

Caulk gun has a nice feel and balance. Bright yellow color makes gun easy to find. Caulk stops flowing when you set gun down or temporarily ignore gun to smooth in caulk or walk away. You won't find a "puddle" of caulk has flowed out of your yellow caulk gun, upon your return.

There isn't a lot to these caulk guns. I chose this one because of the low price and good reviews. I'm happy to report that it is exactly what I had hoped for. Just used it for the first time and it was great. It seems quite sturdy. I would expect it to last for quite some time. I would definitely recommend.

This unit works fine, but it is missing the long pointy stick to puncture the seal, and it took me almost a half an hour to find something else suitably long in my house, so that might be more important than you realize at first. It is also missing a knife or blade slot to cut the tip to the desired diameter. These are so common on most other caulk guns that I didn't realize I had to shop for these features.

Having said that, the construction is high quality and the unit works great once you get the caulk tube open and punctured using other tools! I used it all over my house during a renovation and it's still working great.

the dripless function works very well. the gun is well built especially for the price. i've been looking for a dripless gun for a long time because it makes life easier when you take pressure off the grip, it stops dripping and you are less likely to but extra caulk in your seam. i also use a lot less caulk and it saves me time not having to wipe away extra caulk from the tips on my other guns. i bent a piece of wire through some of the holes to have something to poke open new caulk cartridges

I tend to be a bit messy with a caulk gun so the dripless version is definitely a good choice. I shopped for one at a local hardware store and paid about the same price as for this, but shopping at Amazon saved me the trip there and lots of time. I'm very happy with the purchase, the gun is sturdy, dripless as described and gets the job done. Shipping was lightening fast.

One thing that wasn't very clear to me was how to pull the push handle out all the way. I thought there might be a push button for release or something. Turns out it was as simple as just pulling the silver hook out real hard. Rest everything was pretty straight forward.

The quality on this is low. The metal on my handle bent after little use, making it trash. If you want a cheap one of these, go to the paint section in lowes and they have them for less than $3 after tax.

Its a fairly simple device. It does what it is built to do. Feels solid and I have not had any issues with it. It did arrive pretty scratched up and it was not due to shipping. These are likely made fairly crudely at plant.
