this is the best driving/racing game I've ever played. after 2 weeks and about 40 hours (really) I'm hooked. The graphics are sharp, near photo realistic, the tracks are challenging and beautiful and the gameplay is top notch. I haven't gotten into the online multiplayer aspects I'm spending time learning the driving and tracks, but the single player stuff is varied and fun. The things I like are the tracks are fun, with lots of twists and turns, elevation changes, great scenery;. Lots of cars in different classes so you can learn the tracks in slower cars and still win; many different single player option like tour, time trial, race, random. The cars are not tunable so you get what they give you, I find some cars that I aenjoy driving more than others and stick with them to get the fastest laps. I know the original release had issues and reviewers were not satisfied, but as of February 2017, the single player mode is the, challenging and better than the other racing games. I like it a !ot !
Gameplay is very fun and enjoyable, but the real selling point to this game is the absolutely stunning weather and lighting effects, simply incredible. If you're looking to drop some jaws and have some fun while you're at it, this one's a no brainer. The weather effects are so insanely realistic. Try setting up a race at night in Norway, with heavy precipitation...you can't see a damn thing!! Snow floods the screen and the headlights reflect off the flakes, making it near impossible to see what's ahead. That may sound like a bad thing but my god it's gorgeous! I love that kind of realism. If you were to really drive a car in those conditions, you would be faced with the same handicaps.
Every viewpoint is spectacular and offers its own unique wow factor. For instance, the cockpit view allows you to see the droplets hit the windshield and streak from side to side as you turn, affected by the pull, while the rear camera view allows you to see how the water reacts with the the entire car and the road surface, converging into puddles and flowing naturally.
One of my favorite set of conditions for a race is: night, light precipitation, and stormy clouds. This showcases the game's breathtaking lighting effects and their realism. Your taillights glare against the water droplets of the camera and every so often you are treated to a flash of lighting that lights up the world and for a split-second your breath is stolen. The lightning is free-form and can streak across the sky in seemingly unlimited shapes and sizes, not just your typical jagged bolt that spans sky to ground.
I can't say enough about how beautiful this game is!
Incredible. After all these years this is still the best driving game for the PS4 and has outstanding graphics. The range of cars, tracks, and realistic graphics is superb. The weather effects look and feel so real. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone who owns a PS4, it will keep you coming back to play it over and over again.
DriveClub is pretty much a different game than it was at launch. No, it's a completely different game, and yes, for the better. There's plenty of thorough reviews that will go into specific features, so I'll condense it to the main points.
- This is an Arcade racer with Sim-like controls. The controls do have a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's a very rewarding and challenging driving experience.
- DriveClub is still one of the best looking games across the new consoles. Rain/Snow tracks look absolutely amazing, and are some of the tougher challenges in the game.
- The game goes back to the days of classic Arcade racers like Burnout 3 or Need for Speed. Its not an open-world experience, but you race across the continent in different events. You progressively get faster and faster cars, and this is very intentional, as racing with a car that can go up to 280 mph is very hard to control and requires you to certainly have the learning curve down and race well against tough AI opponents
- If you have friends that play racers with you on PS4, well a big portion of the events and challenges and the way the entire online works is pretty much designed for you. Clubs can do all sorts of cool things together, I'm more of a loner gamer, but I appreciate all the features if I did have a Club.
Game released was a solid 7/10 and with updates that has improved for me to a 9/10. Great game, and at this price, should be a part of any PS4 user's library who likes racers.
* Hint, DriveClub is great for quick pick-up-and-play sessions.
This is a great racing game that is very addictive, the minute you finish a race you can't wait to start another, it's that addictive which is rare in a pure racing game, Graphics are amazing and breath taking does require driving skills and basic understanding of the car handling, defernitely not a arcade racer
I'm not sure if I'm reading the game or the person I bought it from but everything worked well. I have been out of video games for a while. Spending $20 on this doesn't mean you have the complete game. I'm used to the day when you paid somebody for something that's competitive you're allowed to go to the finish and unlock everything or something I don't know. This game made me sell my PS4 after 3 weeks of owning it and playing this game religiously. Finish the game but still had like 75% to unlock for more money. Eat a dick sold everything
After all of the news about this game being a disaster. It's one of the best racing games I have ever played. It gets right into it and it just focuses on racing. You can't customize anything other than the paint scheme. At first I didn't like this but it makes the driving the focus. My only complaint is the jerk drivers in multiplayer that just run into you instead of actually using proper driving skills to win.
Since the updates, this game is the best simulation game on the PS4, might even be better then Forza on the XB1 but Im not going to lie like the other reviews, i havent played forza, only seen it. The weather animations are amazing especialy in CAR views, youtube weather driveclub and youll see what im talking about. Driving feel/sounds/environment there all up there with the best. Till something much better comes out this is 5 stars cuz we cant get anything better yet.
I got this game with Thrustmaster T150 steering wheel, and wow it is a blast! I have so much fun, it is like you are actually driving. I've noticed that every little twitch is sensed, which surprised me. There is a lot to do in this game's offline version, and there are many different online races too, so you will probably never run out of things to do, granted that you don't play for really long times.
Overall, this game is a lot of fun with a steering wheel and pedals, and there is a lot to do. I love it!
I purchased DriveClub on sale in December and have been playing it frequently since then. The handling of the cars is fantastic, the roar of the engines is satisfying, and of course the visuals are some of the best I have ever seen. The addition of weather effects enhances the experience immensely, and when these are combined with night driving, the sense of excitement is fantastic. Though the lack of split-screen multi-player is a disappointment, overall DriveClub is a great racing game and a must buy for PS4 racing fans. With regard to developer support, the amount of updates and added content has been ridiculously plentiful and greatly improved the game as a whole. I had never bought a Season Pass before I had this game, and I am amazed at how much content has been and continues to be released. I highly recommend purchasing the Season Pass as it is a great value. In conclusion, DriveClub is a fantastic racing experience.
