Drones are generally thought of as killing machines used by the military to hunt down terrorists. The Drone Invasion is a documentary film by Director David Oneal, that explores the myths, the promises, and the current reality of drones today. Dozens of experts in Drone technology come together on the screen to answer the simple question of "Are Drones Good?"
Thought it gave some good insights into the challenges the civilian drone industry is fighting and the perception the public has. The issues with advances in technology and the perception of the public is based on the stupidity of those operating the drone negligently and not using it how the technology was intended (flying in restricted areas, or over gatherings of people, etc.). Drones are an extremely impressive tool and provides the consumer a new perspective of our environment we live in. Not only that, but the technology can be used for so many opportunities, like film, photo, crop evaluation, wind farm inspections, search and rescue, and so much more. Let's not let the public perception shape how the drone industry moves forward. We need to educate the operators to use better judgement, and work with the media to better help shape the public perception of drones. This video was a great step forward to begin that education process.
Great documentary with hobbyists, manufacturers, and enthusiasts discussing the positive uses of drones and their technology. Candid discussion of the fears, myths, and misconceptions that many have about drones and their uses and misuses. Well-paced and entertaining.
