I put this into my 06 Scion tC. The paper air filter I replaced was fine, really, but this filter gives me the piece of mind that I never have to buy another filter. The oil is not bad, like some reviews stated. It is what allows small particles to be captured and impeded from entering the engine. When you clean it, you just have to follow all directions. It doesn't increase mileage, so to say; your driving style will change that. Your engine will breath better, and will run a bit cleaner due to that. I also picked up on a very slightly deeper exhaust sound on acceleration.
Bottom line, you'll save in the long run. Ignore some of the crazy claims about huge performance gains and expect just a solid air filter. It won't be disappointing.
