Olivia is a mortician/coroner with a spotty dating history. Having had her first time end with a call to 911 before it even really got started was hard on a girl. Having her second real time end with a call to 911 because her date died - well, that is just more than anyone should be called on to endure. So, Olivia swears off men and goes on with her life. But, she really does want a man to love, marry, and raise kids with. What's a girl to do? Walk into the worst kind of hole-in-the-wall honky-tonk she can find in search of Mr. Right Now, that's what. As luck would have it, Mr. Right Now is pretty amazing. Too bad it was only one night. Except there is a murder in town, and as coroner Olivia is obligated to call in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the agent that shows up? Mr. Right Now. Can the love of your life really turn up at a honky-tonk bar in the middle of nowhere? Can he really show up to work the craziest murder investigation ever? According to this bit of crazy? Absolutely.
This was a lot of fun to read. No-filter grandma, rare physical conditions, nudist colony (um...resort), custom pharmaceuticals, snake handling, and a mountain medicine woman create humor and craziness all around. If you are looking for deep philosophical meaning, this one is not for you. If you just want a couple of hours of entertainment, sit down and enjoy.
Olivia Sullivan was a small town coroner, and mortician, now working for the business that was once owned by her grandfather and then her father. She has been single for a while due to mishaps that arise when she is with a man sexually! To say she is going through a dry spell is an understatement. Her mother is getting remarried and constantly on her case about not being with someone or getting married yet. When Olivia tries to have a one night stand with Holden (Catcher) Mains, a guy she has just met at a dive bar, he is just a means to scratch an itch.
Catcher is an agent for the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation), an extremely alpha and dominating character. He has had enough of the dating scene and would like nothing more than to find the right woman and settle down. When he meets Olivia in a dive bar, he had no intentions of having a one night stand. When morning comes, and Olivia has gone, Holden has to wonder if she is worth pursuing or to leave well enough alone.
When a fairly prominent member of Olivia's town is found dead, their paths cross again. Is it a coincidence that they will be working together or has fate found a funny way to intervene? Can they find a way to work together and keep their feelings for one another hidden or will they give in to what they both want and crave and hope that they can both survive it in the end?
This book is a definite read especially for those who love suspense and romance combined together. My overall review is this book was amazing and kept me turning page after page. I did not want to put it down. I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future!

The rest is great too, funny bits interspersed with a murder hunt with Olivia, as a coroner, getting involved in an investigation with Catcher (Holden) Mains, a man of her dreams and a GBI agent. They lurch from curious to unbelievable to hilarious incidents.
It's told really well from the dry wit of Olivia who can justify virtually anything and everything she does. She also doesn't really seem to get embarrassed, thanks, no doubt, to her irreverent grandmother Pease, who pops up every now and again to put her shot in.
It's altogether a well written, funny, charming book that does have a few sex scenes in.
I was originally put off slightly by the fact Olivia was a mortician. Don't be.
Buy it, it's so worth it. An apt title too.
The story is so quirky and i could never imagine a book set in a small town with a mortician as the leading lady could be so hot and sexy
