5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, nothing else to say.
By David Hansen on February 7, 2016
This part is great! Does exactly what it says. 4 x USB 3.0 ports, and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. I bought this to replace another faceplate with USB 3 and card readers which I bought for a 3.5" bay. I had high hopes for that as I needed to replace my existing card reader, but when I installed it I found it had a power fault on the USB 2.0 ports and almost fried out my PowerEdge.

So that part went right back, and I bought this 5.25" bay because:

1. It adds 4 more USB 3.0 ports on top of the added USB 2.0 ports, something I wasn't looking for but comes in handy and leads to:
2. My server motherboard doesn't have a USB header, it has an on-board USB port. Many of the USB faceplates with 2.0 connect to the motherboard header but this part gets is USB 2.0 directly from my USB 3.0 card.
3. Due to this unit having a dedicated USB 2.0 host hub, it has an additional internal USB 2.0 header, essentially adding a header to my system that I didn't have for further internal expansion. *BIG PLUS*
4. Most importantly, there is NO POWER FAULT when using any of the 2.0 or 3.0 ports.

Oh, the box it comes in says that one USB 2.0 port is power only, however both ports are definitely live and transmit data.
