Eesy to Mount via the Desk Clamp
① Unscrew and push the clamp all the way onto the table edge for maximum security then Fasten the clamp to the desk by turning the handle so that it is tight against the underside of the table.
② Insert the arm into the hole at the top of the clamp.
③ Insert the shock mount or microphone into screw and tighten.
④ Adjust the stand to your favorite position.
Noted: Make sure that the clamp sits flush on both the top and bottom surfaces of the table. Test that you have mounted the clamp securely by seeing if you can pull it off the edge of the table. Tables with round edges provide less security than those with square edges. If the clamp comes off easily, try reattaching it tighter and repeat the testing.

The best alternative to a Rode PSA1

For $47 you can't go wrong for an alternative to a Rode PSA1. I ordered the white version for my Blue Yeti, and I can confirm that it's more of a purple hue white when compared to the bone white Blue Yeti Microphone. That stand itself was easy to install, less that 5 minutes actually. My Blue Yeti screwed on with ease and the cable routing was simple. My only problem with this mic stand is the creaking sound of metal whenever you attempt to readjust it, along with the color of the not being true white (just my preference). I'll leave a simple pro/con for those who would rather not read a long paragraph.

Pro:
-Cheap price
-Easy to install
-Works for Blue Yeti

Con:
-White version isn't really white
-Metal springs on the inside are creaky

Ordered this because it looks like the Rode PSA1 for $50 less. The arm arrived and felt sturdy, I attached the AT2020 with a shock mount and plugged in the XLR. Even with all that weight the arm would not stay in place, it would spring up the second I let go of it. It also made an awful squeaking sound because the springs inside were rusted.

Edit: Since the first one I received may have been defective, I reordered it and the new one was still very squeaky so I ended up returning it to get something better.

I use it with a blue snowball microphone and it works perfectly. It stays exactly where I place it and doesn't sag down at all. The clamp stays nice and secure to my desk. Adjusting the position of your microphone is really easy. It is a little on the small side though don't expect this to reach over your monitor but even though it's small it's incredibly well made. I didn't expect this much quality for such a low price. If you need a boom arm for your microphone this is a good option especially for this price point.

UPDATE: After using this stand for awhile, I had to lower my review. If i could, I'd give it a 3 1/2. Mainly because the clamps that you attach it to your desk... Well, for lack of a better term... They suck. But, the rest of the tightening spots are good. It still holds up my mic just fine and is still doing the job.

Works exactly as intended. I use a Snowball Microphone that fits on there perfectly, you just need to do a bit of fidgeting with attachments. You can tighten and loosen up the arm joints to give you the strength you prefer.

Let us be brutally honest, if you want a boom stand you probably aren't trying to hold up an 11 dollar mic. Spring strength was comparable to a paralytic toddler trying desperately to keep you from taking away their prized toy. Mine also did not include the pictured mic holder so I had to use a box of adapters to even try to use it. Just, buy something else, anything else. I threw mine away instead of leaving it by the dumpster just so no other well meaning person could be hurt by this item.

I was looking for a more affordable alternative to the Rode PSA1 that would be sturdy enough for my Blue Yeti. I wasn't willing to try one of the cheap $20 stands that likely are not strong enough for the Yeti so I went ahead and bought this one. It works perfectly with my Yeti. It is very sturdy and well build, the mount is simple enough and holds onto my desk just fine. I can adjust it to whatever position and the stand keeps my microphone there unless I move it. Definitely a sweet spot between quality and price.

It’s a great mic arm. Only issue I had when using it was the plastic that kept it from scratching things. The arm clamp doesn’t really scratch the desk except under but for the most part I can get around it. Its overall a great product but I would work on a more duable protection if you want to make sure nobody has the problem I had. As said wasnt a bit deal but if effort is put in it wont have this flaw.
