Ms. Vincent had a few good ideas for her story, but sadly, the author's execution of the story just wasn't there for me. The characters were rather flat and one-dimensional, and the writing seemed to be "telling" rather than "showing". The plot was somewhat repetitive, and the dialogue was rather stilted and awkward. I think that the story would have been far better if it had been properly edited before it was published, since the overall concept was interesting.
The author included an excerpt at the end of the story for book 2, which seems to have some good creative ideas, but it also still contains the same awkward dialogue and garbled plot. I'm giving Dual Hearts a 3 star rating (which is overly generous) only because I liked the prequel story (Big City Seduction) that was included at the end.
I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
And there begins two relationships with Chris and Xander. Will she pursue her dream job and who will she pick? There is intrigue, angst, betrayal and lies in this highly recommended must read that kept me turning the pages. Well done Emily with this superb read. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.
This book is good, and the people know me, they can understand if I'm saying the book is good, then the book is genuinely good. All the things about this are lovely. The plot, story, characters & pace all of them are complimenting each other. I'm happy to say I'm not disappointed with the book at all.
I felt the connection with all the characters and they all were beautiful. The plot was good and the author knitted the story very well around the plot. The pace of the story is good. At few occasions, I did feel that the story is going slow but overall it was fine. Lead character 'Elisha' well her character is portrayed very well. I did get disappointed at few occasions with Xander & Chris but overall it was good.
I would say that Emily did a good job with this Debut Book. I would like to thank Emily for the ARC & good luck for this book & upcoming projects.
I received an ARC copy for this story.
