(Original review) I saw these and knew right away that I had to have them for my classroom bulletin boards. They are reasonably priced and a cinch to measure (guidelines), cut and hang. I was bummed when I noticed that small parts of the rolls seemed to not have any "stickiness" but I pressed on (pun intended). I covered two bulletin boards using only the paper that was sticky and they looked great...until the next day when I saw that they were crumpled on the floor below the boards. They didn't last 24 hours! So why three stars instead of one or zero? Well, I am writing that first attempt off to humidity. I know, I know...humidity happens. But I hung them in early September on a really humid day. Amazon "returns" was handled quickly and with no hassle; they promptly shipped three new rolls right away without my even having to return the originals. I am hanging them today but will attach a small strip of duck tape at the top to help them hang. If this works, I'd really be more inclined to go with four or five stars since the liquid chalk markers that I also bought look awesome on the boards...they really pop!
For this purpose I need a contact paper that's easy to work with, sticks well to the back of the puzzle and keeps the pieces from falling off, but doesn't leave a permanent residue when I remove it.
I've tried several brands of contact paper, but I've had trouble with them sticking in the past. Some brands I've tried, the pieces just fall off it. The Duck Brand peel-and-stick laminate contact paper is the one thing I've tried that really works and it feels like good quality and it easy to cut and work with. It can be expensive though, given how much I use it. So I tried this "Deco" version with dots. I don't really care what the paper LOOKS like, since it is hidden between my puzzle and the foamcore board.
This Deco/dots version is just like the peel-and-stick laminate contact paper. It works great and the price is way cheaper than the white or clear kind. I'm ordering 10 rolls!
This was very easy to apply to the various wood conditions that we have in the cabinets and drawers (the wood under the sink has water damage due to a leak). This has remained stuck to everything that I have put this on except for the aforementioned damaged wood. The laminate is still there, but it's not "stuck" to the wood. It has not, however, moved or rippled up as of yet. So it really isn't a big problem for us. The back of the laminate also has a grid as a guidelines to help you cut straight!
I had some leftover pieces and decided to also cover the bottom of the silverware organizer, too!!
