Regardless of your views or opinions on Ducktales Remastered as a game, I think we can all agree that the original NES soundtrack was treated with a tremendous amount of respect and as a result we were given a fantastic set of remixed and remastered tunes. Every musical track from the game is in here, as well as all the original NES tracks. As an additional bit of attention to detail, they even created 8-bit NES-style versions of tracks that were exclusive to Remastered, which is a really nice touch.

I don't often give Capcom much credit these days, but hats off to them for creating a great soundtrack here. Highly recommended.

Jake Kaufman stated in an interview that "I've heard the [DuckTales music] in my head as arrangements since I was 10, so I knew exactly what I'd do...if I got the opportunity." We are all better for fate intervening to grant him that opportunity with DuckTales: Remastered.

The original game already had one of the more memorable soundtracks from the 8-bit era, so bringing it into the modern era is no small feat, but Kaufman does so with skill and class. Every old track simply bursts to life with the new arrangements, in part because they now more perfectly fit the game levels they go with. "Transylvania" gains a spooky vibe to go along with its haunted mansion level. "The Amazon" and "The Himalayas" are now driven by awesome tribal beats. "The Moon" in particular, which was already a memetic poster child for being as good as NES music gets, gets an amazing symphonic rock remix. But additionally, the Moon melody is also weaved by Kaufman throughout the entire soundtrack as something of a leitmotif for the entire game (appropriately enough), along with melodic phrases from the original Mark Mueller TV theme. These subtle touches truly shine in "Scrooge's Office", which takes what was originally a 3-second loop, expands it beautifully, and then blends it with both of those extra motifs into what may be the score's defining track, a touching melody that captures the wanderlust of Scrooge and the game itself.

There are several entirely new tracks as well, to go along with newly-added levels from the remastered game, as well as backing tracks for the many new cinematic scenes. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear they were part of the NES version, or maybe even the TV show itself, as Kaufman is just that good at properly capturing the feel of the source material.

Love how the soundtrack includes 8-bit versions of even the cutscenes, though it seems that the creators didn't bother to do one for the final boss. Other than that, this is worth a purchase.
