They are perfect and sound great when combined with other percussion instruments. If you are seeking a small egg type of shaker you may want to check out this brand.
Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Chair/seated Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga stretching for seniors and the physically challenged)
These are lightweight plastic eggs filled with beads. They make a very rich rattle sound. Not much more to it.
Another reviewer indicated they will crack easily if dropped on a hard floor. I could see that from my limited use thus far. Just need to keep them over the carpet to avoid the beads flying everywhere if you drop one.
We are building a little musical instrument collection for our kids. These are perfect to add a bit of percussion without having to know how to play. Just shake to the rhythm and you are there. My budding music star has already told me he's got it down and I'm horrible. He might be right.
They jump around shaking them, and the oldest likes to shake them while singing the Shake the Sillies Out song.
One problem... the 10 month old nearly gets the whole thing in his mouth.
I've been watching him, but If he pushed a little harder he'd get the egg in his mouth and then it would likely get stuck.
These eggs are a little small, so with kids under 18 months you need to be careful, and watch them carefully.
