I ordered mediums which is my usual size. I'm 6' and 190 lbs. These thermals leg cuffs end at about mid-calf, and the waist band extends a couple/4 inches up above my belly button. I think these thermals are patterned after the anatomy of mountain gorillas.
I wear long johns from Oct to April without skipping a day.
What i like about these are the snug fit without being bulky under my clothes.
Also they are not extra long where they hang out of my pants if i don't feel like tucking them in my socks; no worries there either.
I like and can tell the cotton is of high quality.
These are the best.
btwl; i was going to initially purchase these before i bought the Sonoma brand from Kohls.
They were not bad either. After those wore out i went back to Kohls to restock(they lasted about 3 yrs). They no longer carry them which i do not understand but then again i do. These manufacturers will not keep anything consumers like that are of good quality because they can't make a ton of money. They think it's to their advantage to manufacture cheap quality products that they pay almost nothing for than to have something of value that consumers can really appreciate and feel they are getting their money's worth. These are a little more expensive but are a better alternative anyway. I hope they do not change the recipe.
January 2016--Three years later, I'd have to change the star rating to two stars because the waistband totally gave out. Only way I could wear these now would be if I gained around 80 pounds and it all went to my middle. Too bad, because the fabric is still nice and soft. I suppose I can cut them up and use the pieces to oil my gun or polish my car.
I live in Michigan, on top of a hill. Can you say windchill? These work great! On the worst days wear them under a windproof layer (Nylon, Gortex) and you stay comfy even in the worst weather. These are also lightweight and allow you to move and are not too hot the wear all day indoors at work. I am a college physics and astronomy professor and I am very hyperactive and alwayrunning in and out of buildings, climbing on tables to demonstrate physics principles and so on. These long johns work well and last long.
I would recommend them to anyone who lives in a cold windy climate and spends all day running and climbing and going in and out of bulidings.
Agree with another reviewer about the waist being too high. I have to fold over the waistband otherwise they extend above my pants. Other than that, they fit under jeans just fine (not too bulky). I usually wear slim fit clothes for what it's worth.
Good value for the price.
Update: These shrunk a bit after washing and drying. I would order the XL next time. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs. They fit great when they were brand new, but shortened after drying. I felt like I had plumber's butt every time I bent over.
I like how they can insulate a lot of heat while not being too thick to wear under other layers.
