Following some instructions online, I cleaned my OEM brake calipers, and applied 4 thin coats by brush (sprayed into a cup, first), and 4 coats sprayed from the can, allowing 15 minutes of drying time between coats. One can was enough for 4 calipers, and I just might have enough to paint my header heat shield. I allowed 24 hours before touching the car again.
The paint is glossy and looks substantial. It sprayed on evenly and didn't come out in bursts or clumps. After 1000 miles of driving and some direct pressure washing, it looks as though it was just applied. We'll see how it fares through the next Winter, but I'm optimistic.
The result is a smooth, factory looking caliper. Have had people comment how much more I had to pay as they thought it was a factory option upgrade!!!!
Apply a minimum of 2 coats and follow the instructions for distance to prevent any paint drips or teardrops. Did 2 front calipers and there's enough left in the can for one coat on 2 more (the Fit has drum rears). Amazon priced it right and shipped fast.
UPDATE: With the left-over paint was able to color the front and rear calipers on the wife's '14 MB G550. Prep work is the key. Put on 2 coats and even the Service techs at the local dealership find the results amazing! The painted calipers on the Honda Fit have been on 8 months and continue to look like new. No chipping, fading but note that Japanese vehicles have minimal brake dust compared to German brands. Curious to see how these hold up on our MBenz.

Great color. Looks nice and bright on my Swedish Volvo. So far brake dust and the weather hasn't faded it yet. Read morePublished 9 days ago by Sirscarface
Great cobalt blue color that stands out just enough. Just be sure to sand before applying.Published 12 days ago by Stephen
