Update - 22 JUN 14: No big change but having a different vehicle now and not able to find a decent rattle can purple standard paint, I went back to this engine paint. I used it on the aluminum CAI tube and the plastic engine cover and fuse box lid and it turned out great. I'll add some photos to the product link. A really great product.
I knew that my screen may not be true to color and I was willing to take the risk, so there is no reason to lower the stars, but do be aware when you buy this it really is teal.
As to how it handles heat, it's working wonderfully on my pellet stove that was all scratched up and looking quite ugly. I'm happy with the paints ability to hold up to heat at a reasonable price.
When you use it, be aware that this stuff is almost gummy. I spay paint quite a lot, and this isn't as wet as most other spray paint products, leaving a higher risk of dripping. It's also harder to while away when you make a mistake, if you wait a minute, it will even be like touching chewing gum that's been out in the sun- long sticky strips of gummy goo-
So it's best to while away mistakes right away.
Also, the paint says if you don't add extra coats within an hour- to wait 7 days before reapplying coats.
That's a new
1/7/2014 The finish is still holding up despite lots of use and about 3/4 year. Some discoloration due to smoke from the grill but no more than when the original finish was new.
I lightly sanded all the surfaces and painted in a cardboard box, to contain the spray.
Using more than 2 coats will result in a glossy finish. Lighter coats will result in a satin finish.
Very uniform particle size and spray.
