If you need corrosion protection between two welded pieces, this is it. Granted the welds may have more spatter and be a little more difficult to perform, but the protection is invaluable. This stuff sprays beautifully and dries fast. It is way better than the SEM brand I have been using for years at a much higher cost.

Pretty good, but not perfect

It works pretty well, but not quite as good as I expected. It flaked off over an inch away from the weld and I wasn't getting the piece super hot. I was just doing butt welds on sheet metal, so each weld was just a quick zap. I hit the flaked areas with a wire brush and resprayed over the welds. Not much I can do about the areas that are now enclosed. Hopefully I don't get rust in those areas down the line.

Although I was skeptical, I wanted to give these weld through coating a try. Due to my skepticism I wanted to test this product against the higher priced 3m coating, and next to bare steel. All three tests were welded with the same settings, and this picture is after 4 months of whatever late summer Pittsburgh weather had to offer. I have to admit, the duplicolor product has notably better results.

I unfortunately did not have great luck with the Weld thru properties of the paint. It produced alot of spatter and definitely had an effect on the weld pool. No porosity but not pretty either. That being said the actual paint properties of this product is great. I used it as primer on various projects and it seams to bond well.
