This product worked great for me. I painted my 4Runner's wheels and I was surprised with the good results.

DO ONLY TWO WHEELS AT A TIME. ALLOT about 2 hours for this process.

Do each step per wheel before moving to next step.
1. Clean wheels with soap and water using 3M scratch pad (purple). This will scuff up the surface of your existing finish
2. Lets dry 30 mins
3. Very quickly/lightly wipe outside of the wheel with a clean shop rag, lightly doused with turpintine.
4. PRIMER ---- Two light coats, 10 mins apart.
5. Let sit 30 mins (per primer instructions)
6. PAINT - Two light coats, 10 mins apart, then final medium / wet coat (be careful not to get a run)
7. Let sit 30-45 mins but neither wheel more than an hour.
8. CLEAR COAT - 1-2 light coats, only 10 mins apart.
9. Let sit for 5 days. It will be dry to the touch in 1-2 hours but will take several days to fully harden.

Also note you cannot redo the wheel for 5 days as it clearly states on the can that if you mess up you need to wait the 5 days for the paint layers to truly cure before lightly sanding and respraying. Good news is that if you mess up you will not need to re-primer, just lightly scratch up the surface and paint over it.

You can see pictures of wheels with this paint by going to Toyota-4Runner.org and searching Duplicolor Graphite.

Has a Great Finish, I used a primer as my aluminum rims were quite corroded. The finish is fantastic, as with all rattle cans its hard to eliminate spray lines but this goes on so smoothly and when it dries it actually hides any imperfections. I will definitely buy this brand again if I get sick of the color.

Sprayed on nice and even. Finish seems durable and will know with time. Bad thing is that when the can gets to about 30% full, and I guess pressure in the can drops, it starts spitting paint. I tried three cans and they all did this. Lucky I had bought four cans so I had plenty extra. I would recommend one per wheel so you can avoid this problem.

I had a bit of curb rash on a couple of my wheels. I have a set of OZ Alleggeritas in Matte Graphite Silver. After finally repairing my wheels and it was time to paint them, these matched the color perfectly and you wouldn't be able to tell if there was any damage to begin with assuming you'e adequately repaired the wheels. I was caught off guard when the instructions say to allow them to cure in seven days, so I had to keep my winter wheels on my car for another week.

The color of this stuff couldn't have been a better match for my 2011 WRX wheels. The product itself, however, even after good prep, refused to stay on the wheels. I prepped with alcohol, followed by adhesion promoter, then medium/heavy coats of the product. After about a week it was chipping and flaking terribly. Not only that, but it left an almost powdery residue everywhere. Odd product, may be good for a touch up job, but I wouldn't do an entire set of wheels with it again.

Purchased a few cans of this stuff to do the rims on my graphite Volvo wagon. The same time I had my R wing get a huge gouge due to some backing issues. Not only did this stuff work well on my rims, it matched the paint of my car. Talk about luck. Havent had any issues with the color itself, however their cans of clear coat are a joke, and require many many thin layers.

I painted the first of my four junk yard oem wheels today with the Duplicolor recommended products. That is self etch primer,HWP graphite and clearcoat on top. Cleaning the well used 2002 aluminum wheel took the better part of three days using 3M red stripping wheel ,2 inch red buffing pads, 320 grit paper on my air sander and a few oz of citristrip. The self etch primer went on like a champ. No problems at all. The clearcoat was great. It sprays on beautifully and only ran once due to my mistake. The graphite basecoat on the other hand was a little more demanding.I learned years ago that painting with spray cans requires a paint can in one hand and a rag soaked in lacquer thinner in the other to wipe the nozzle and your finger. This was not quite enough to keep the can from spitting paint or seizing up completely. I solved this problem by removing the nozzle and soaking it in a jar of lacquer thinner for a few minutes and blowing it out with an air hose. This had to be done about every two minutes and I assumed that this is the price to be paid for spraying metallic paint. My nozzle finger was crippled spraying the back of the wheel so I had to default to my 3M spray can adapter to finish up the front. The finished paint job looks outstanding in spite of one mistake by me and two bugs that decided to go swimming. I would recommend this trio of wheel painting products to anyone wanting to do a first class home paint job.

I painted a set of wheels and the frame of a scooter. I used graphite on the wheels with a clear coat over it and they look great. The paint still looks good after over a year. I used black on the frame without clear coating. It's holding up better than paints I've tried before, but still worn through on spots where my shoes rub against it all the time. I won't hesitate to use this paint again.
