As other reviewers have noted, "Procell" are simply Duracell Coppertop cells bulk boxed for the contractor and industrial market. Spec-for-spec, they are identical in every aspect to retail blister-carded Duracell Coppertop batteries. They are cheaper because the cost to blister card these cells is substantial, and this of course is reflected in the higher mark-up at retail and the more attractive economy of scale by purchasing in bulk.

3 Volt 123A Lithium Cells can be very expensive. I use them in my high tech LED Surefire and Streamlight torches and it makes a huge difference in terms of overall performance. Here are my thoughts on this product:

PROS:

1. In general, I have found that Duracell has a better track record for performance compared to Energizer. Both brands will and do leak if they are not temperature controlled and/or if you leave them in your appliance(s) when not in use for over 3 weeks.....Period.

2. If you must refrigerate them (not recommended by either manufacturer), be certain to allow them to achieve room temperature for at least 2 hours before placing them into your appliance. Condensation will destroy both the batteries and your device. I store them in my cool (60 Degree F) and dry basement in a sealed cabinet.

3. Lithium cells are superb performers and offer the best platform compared to carbon-zinc, alkaline, nickel metal hydride or nickel cadmium.

CONS:

1. If used on a regular basis in high drain devices, I would recommend considering rechargeable lithium-ion cells. e.g.Tenergy rechargeable lithium cells.

2. Before you purchase, INSIST that the vendor specifically discloses the expiration/sell by date and code.

The Duracell (the "Copper-Top" people) ProCell 3-volt Lithium Battery seems to be a hi-performance-type cell -- they are marked "Professional Lithium Battery" and "Not For Retail Sale".

These batteries are Made in the U.S.A. -- and "best used before" 2021 -- That's a very impressive shelf-life !! Tested straight from the box, the batteries indicated a MINIMUM of 3.235 Volts and a MAXIMUM of 3.239 Volts. The "Best Before" date is a nice touch, since many brands of these Lithium Batteries don't have a date to go by.

The handy 12-Pack gave me just enough batteries to replace the dead/dying cells in the Security Alarm System -- and there seems to be a plenty of power available for the task !! The ProCells brought my security alarm system back to it's as-new condition, and I would recommend these batteries for Security System applications, where reliability is an absolute MUST !!
My order arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Thanks, Amazon !!

After searching for these lithium ion batteries on amazon, I was a bit nervous because of the reviews on other listed items arriving in plastic bags without original packaging. These looked legit and had good reviews. I can attest that the batteries came in a Duracell box, and have an expiration date of 2020. I ordered for our home security system because our local battery store did not have them in stock - go figure - except to purchase one battery for like $7! This was definitely a good deal.

I cannot attest to the durability of this size battery. I have used other sizes of this brand of battery and they held up well over time. I just want to warn future purchasers to check the expiration date on the batteries when they arrive. I received this size battery from a highly rank vendor on Amazon and the batteries were 1 to 3 years past the expiration date. Vendors, please stop trying to scam us. We want a quality product when we purchase goods with our hard earned money.

Batteries arrived on schedule but expired a year ago and no longer work. Very disappointing as batteries were needed ASAP and now have to search for alternate solution. Expect much more from Amazon.

Bought them to replace the Adt alarms batteries. They wouldn't work in motion sensors because they did not have the full 3.2 charge..validated with a multimeter reader. Ended up using them on doors and have Adt come replace motion sensor with Panasonic batteries.

We installed a new alarm system in 2000; there are approximately 30 battery-operated sensors. We use only Procell 3v batteries, and replace all of them at the same time every 6-7 years. Because we buy 12-count packages, we always have a partially open package of new batteries that we use to replace the ones that go more quickly (e.g., in the front door sensor). We bought the last batch in 2013; the expiration date stamped on the batteries is March 2021. I went to use one today (2/28/15)--all 7 remaining in the package tested flat. I don't know what the explanation might be-- they are made in the US, they arrived in OEM packaging and were kept there for 2 years. They should not be flat. So I give them 3 stars although I would've given them 5 stars before this last shipment.

After purchased a case of these believing they were better than DuraCells, I contacted their ProCell division only to find that they aren't quite as good. Should have done my due diligence before I purchased them. All in all however, they're still a pretty good batteries that are target marketed for medical and specialty electronic goods.
