Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton Electric Stove Heater, Black
Portable electric stoves are an ideal solution for any small living space. Unlike a mantel fireplace, a freestanding stove offers you the luxury of easily moving the heater from room to room. The Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton electric stove creates instant ambiance with its stunning antique stove design and dancing flame effect.
The remote control provides added convenience and makes the unit easy to control.
Why choose a Duraflame Pendleton Electric Stove Heater?
Zone Heating Saves
Heating your entire home all day may not be the best economic choice for your utility bills, particularly with the rooms which are used only during certain parts of the day, like bedrooms, dens and basements.
Zone heating is an effective way to provide comfort to your home, without having to warm every room. You can shut off the heated air blown to different sections (or 'zones') of your home which aren’t occupied and use a portable heater to provide supplemental zone heating for the part of your home which is occupied.
The Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton electric stove heater provides you with greater control over heat distribution in the home. You can harness the energy and money savings of zone heating by warming only the room you’re in and lowering energy bills by turning down your thermostat.
Advantages of Zone Heating
Energy efficiency – You don’t have to waste extra energy to heat rooms that aren’t occupied.
Control – Placing a heater in the different rooms of your home allows you to decide suitable temperatures for each particular room, since every room may not require the same amount of heat.
Individualized control and comfort – Since different members of your household have different individual needs for warmth, the Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton electric stove heater allows them to set the temperature to what they want without having to disturb other household members.
Looking at its advantages, zone heating can save energy and give you more control to customize the temperature of the different zones of your home, plus reduce the wear and tear on your HVAC unit.
Year Round Ambiance
As the outdoor air temperature changes, you can enjoy the relaxing quality of the dancing flames and glowing ember bed of a fire year-round without getting too warm. Additionally, this stove is a great addition to your décor and can create an atmosphere which adds charm and romance.
The Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton electric stove heater with a realistic log and ember bed will provide visual delight and the warmth of a fire, plus the convenience to allow you to control the temperature, including turning the heat completely off.
Having the convenience to turn off the heat gives you the ability to continue enjoying the relaxing effect of a flickering fire during the warmer spring and summer seasons.
Safe to Use
This portable electric stove is very safe to use. With the Duraflame DFS-750-1 Pendleton electric stove heater, you will not have to worry about exposed flames, dangerous pilot lights or the stove surface becoming hot to the touch. The stove surface stays cool to the touch, which means it is safe to operate around children and pets.
This stove also includes overheat protection, which will instantly turn off the heater before overheating.
An additional benefit is the built-in tip over safety switch, which will automatically turn off the stove should it get knocked over.
These safety features provide you the peace of mind to safely operate your stove without the need to constantly keep a watchful eye on your home, children or pets.
The Pendleton electric stove with heater adds charm, ambiance and warmth to any room. The stove has a charming picture windows with arched frame detailing and an old fashioned brushed nickel coil handle. Other features include an operable door and glowing logs and ember bed. The 4,600 BTU heater provides supplemental zone heating up to 400 square foot. The realistic flame effect can be operated with or without so you can enjoy your electric stove year round. A remote control is included for added convenience.

This comes with a remote control which is much nicer to have than I would have imagined. You can have a "roaring" fire (more flames), a "modest" fire (less flames), and have flames without blowing heat. No part of the unit gets hot to the touch on the outside, so it's safe for pets.
It takes a couple of hours to heat my apartment living room and the blowing fan is not especially quiet, but it definitely does eventually heat the whole room (about 15 feet x 20 feet with an open area into the dining room and kitchen). I bought it when the apartment's antiquated "radiant heat" system went out for good, and my heating bill has been a little less than it usually is, so it's pretty efficient, too.
I had some doubts about this purchase because of the bad reviews, but I haven't experienced anything unsatisfactory at all, so I'm giving it 5 stars. I'm glad I bought it and hope it will last a few years. I'll come back with an edit if it doesn't.

2nd winter of 12+ hours of use most days and still runs like new. Will update if it dies.
The heat does not radiate from the front and center of the heater but rather blows out from the bottom, underneath the unit. I think this is an unfortunate design feature.
I also find it annoying that the remote control can be used to turn the fan on or off, to adjust the brightness of the flames, but not to adjust the thermostat. I don't know why I assumed that you would be able to turn the heater up or down with the remote, but I thought you could (that's the only feature it worth using a remote for imo).
I mostly wanted an item like this to look cozy around Christmas time since I miss having a wood stove, and I thought the cats would enjoy it as much as they enjoy sleeping in front of our Bionaire space heater. This Duraflame does give us something to hang our stockings over and it does put out a little bit of heat but it isn't as functional as I thought it would be, and the cats are thoroughly unimpressed by it. They don't like the fan sound either. :(
