Darlene Bobich has long been a character I could relate to. I'm a sucker for a snarky, inappropriate female personality in my literature, and she has always delivered some good laughs. Her role in Dying Days 4 is much less the center stage it has been in previous books, and the author has made way for other characters to dominate. I'm good with this, because it's another female rivaling Darlene's bitchiness.
The two female characters butt heads through the book, which makes for some interesting conflict. Darlene is pregnant and ready to pop, and on the run with now-hubby John and his dad, Murph.
Armand's zombies have drastically evolved from the mindless masses introduced in book one. They are now smarter than most survivors, can strategize to ambush, and have the capacity to use weapons. That, my friends, is a scary combo for a zombie, and one I never hope to meet!
I'm glad Armand has given us new people to play with...even though he took some away throughout...and hope Darlene takes over again in future releases. That's not to say Tosha wasn't entertaining, but for me as a reader, it's Darlene that I'm attached to.
There are some minor editing snafus, but nothing major enough to affect my reading experience or the rating I feel the book deserves. Creativity, overall reading experience, and character progression earns Dying Days 4 a 5 star rating from The Bookie Monster
to give you all the details as you need to download and read this book for yourself, but when the Zombies
start becoming smarter than the living humans, you know it's not going to turn out pretty! Besides being
smart, I really like the humor that Armand has given some of the Zombies to display. It's a great book and action from start to end.
Also in Dying Days 4, he is setting up in my opinion other series that might breakout and be separate from Dying Days, which
means he has some really great characters and that is in addition to Darlene Bobich, the Zombie Killer! Everyone jump on board
the Rosamilia train, it's going to be a "Hale" of a ride! Enjoy!
