Editorial Reviews

Red Line Chemistry's debut for Bulldog Productions will be released on 2/15/2011, and the band is on the verge of widespread awareness. Few acts can boast to having performed in front of tens of thousands in a single gig while remaining unsigned, musch less enjoying the experience multiple times. The forthcoming release Dying For A Living is everything that quintet hoped it would become. Guitarist Andy Breit shares, 'We spent eight months working on this repertoire, wanting to deliver a big rock record that crushed the listener.' As they continue this quest to escape the environs of the Midwest, only time will tell how far this journey takes them.

If I had 5 million dollars to invest in these guys, I would, since today not too many people have heard of them, or this album, but if they can get their name out there, they will be OVER THE TOP in success. This album start to finish just rocks! I have been listening to it for about a month now, and every few days I have a different favorite song. Go to the MP3 disk version on this site and sample each of the tunes and you will know where I am coming from :)

About the me: My favorite stuff is Alice In Chains, Black Label Society, Kid Rock, Godsmack, GnR, STP, Union Underground, Tool, Rage, White Stripes.

When I first caught wind of Red Line Chemistry, I was on the road traveling listening to Sirius Octane. The song they introduced was "Dumb Luck", and after wards I made a mental note to find out more about the band. I found their web site and previewed the entire album one day and have been hooked ever since. The lead singer Brett Ditgen has a voice that is both unique and familiar in the saturated music world of alternative/hard rock these days. What sets Brett apart from other singers in alternative bands is vocals most notably on "Fire Rising" where his tone is mesmerizing yet powerful. While some bands are content with screaming and wailing into the microphone, Brett's vocals are crystal clear and pleasing to listen to over and over.

Brett sings within his vocal range very well and stretches it only when needed. If someone happened to turn on their music at a bar one night, you would swear that you could hear hints of Layne Staley of Alice In Chains fame, or Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fame, most notably on "Dumb Luck" and "You Don't Get It". Brett's unique vocal style really shines on "UltraGigantor" with what sounds like the use of an old-school 50's style recording microphone.

The guitars by Andy Breit on this album are both melodic and subtle, yet possessing that harsh edge that hard rockers like myself have come to love. Andy's solos are well placed and shine throughout the album, not to mention the lead ins on high energy tracks like "You Don't Get It", "Johnny Come Alive" and "Greed". The album takes you through higher and higher with each track building to an amazing crescendo with "UltraGigantor" but still brings you back down to the ground with the last track "So Many Days".

Good hard and heavy rock album. Reminds me of a combination of Alice in Chains and Tool. The first five songs are great. The second half of the album becomes a bit generic at times.Overall a very strong rock record.

From track one to the last track, totally worth the purchase. Somewhere between Alice and Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. Hopefully no Heroin interruptions! I highly recommend this album. Looking forward to seeing them live.

Being a product of the 70's and 80's hard rock/metal scene, I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to new bands and the music they put out these days as it all seems very generic, repetitive and often just plain boring. So, much to my surprise, when this release was recommended to me, I sampled it, bought it, and haven't been able to stop listening to it yet! RLC is an amazing talent and they write songs that are fresh, energetic and plain just rock hard. Every single tune on this release is a gem and not one could be considered filler. Coming at you full throttle, RLC shows a heavy Alice in Chains influence with a good dose of Shinedown and early STP thrown in for flavor. These elements combine to make an utterly original recording that will have you rocking out for a long time! This is one that I enthusiastically recommend with all the five stars I could give it!!! Get this! You will not regret it!!!

For me, my favorite tunes one here are Dumb Luck, Fire Rising, You Don't Get It, Plastic Masquerade and Ultragigantor, though as I said above, every single tune is well worth listening!!!

I first heard this band while on a 3 week trip to Colorado. Apparently they were playing in Denver and one of the local radio stations was playing the song "You Don't Get it". I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, this is good .. . . . . . hope there is a killer solo in the song" and there was! Heard the song played on this station 3 or 4 more times and then headed back to Texas. Texas radio stations never heard of the band. Couldn't find the CD in stores, couldn't order it, it wasn't in the system. I got it in the system! I told the damn radio station to check this band out. A couple weeks later I see the CD in stores on the NEW RELEASE shelf! I hear it on the radio! Now I'm in Afghanistan with the Army. I have my copy of "Dying for a Living". It's been a very long time since a rock band put out a kick ass effort where every damn song on the record kicks ass! This hasn't happened since the 80's metal scene. This one rocks! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!

I got this album shortly after they started getting airplay in my home town. Hungry to hear something new these guys didn't disappoint and their live shows are just as exciting. I am surprised I haven't been cited for speeding when Ultragigantor comes on. I'm hoping the follow up coming out in a couple weeks will take things to the next level.
