DYLAN was everything I knew it would be and more. There's nothing like finding an author that you have complete confidence in, an author that you know will weave a beautiful tale of romance, make you cry a little, and make you laugh a lot. Karla is my go-to author for feel good romance with substance.
The novel begins with Dylan stuck at the same old job, living the same old life. He feels like he's stuck in a rut, and when he's offered a job opportunity in Colorado, he takes it. There he meets Kat, and his furry sidekick Leonidas that completely wooed me (seriously, not only does Karla write perfect fictional men, but she also writes perfect fictional dogs!! If Leonidas was a real dog, I'd be in trouble because I'd bring him home lol).
Kat was an amazing leading lady. She felt real and raw, and I really felt a kinship with her. Not because I've experienced the same things as her, but I understand the anxiety she felt to a degree so I could sympathize with her.
So, to summarize; I loved this book, gave it 5 stars because it deserves those 5 stars, and would recommend this novel and all of Karla's other books to anybody who wanted to fall in love with fictional characters. ;)
In the other books you get a small feel for him, but in his book you see him grow. He finds himself, and finds what he's capable of handling.
Kat is not like the other three heroines Sorensen has written. She's shy, closed off, and unsure of herself. But with Dylan by her side she flourishes. You can't help but love them as indiviuals and as a couple.
The secondary characters are great. I loved how Dylan's group of guy friends immediately took her in and made her feel comfortable. I cannot wait for Garrett's book.
Don't question reading this book, just do it. You won't be sorry.
