To fix this problem you need to find the sweet spot on your devices volume control that puts out just the right amount of electricity.
Again this is the volume on the connected device, NOT the tape deck. Too much volume will cause distortion like your speakers are blown. Too little will hiss like an old record.
Once you find this "sweet spot" then you use the tape deck's controls for actually changing the volume.after that you should be pleased with this product.
I bought this product as a temporary resolution until I install my head unit with USB support. It won't be the same quality in a car as a quality stereo, but this has more to do with the limitations of cassette heads and older, stock stereos simply don't have a lot of the power and quality of todays alternatives. The product itself works as advertised and better than AM/FM in sound quality.
Cord seems too long
Doesn't charge the iPod
usually the cord of adapters deteriorates after a few months of use and sound gets static. if you are lucky the dynex ones might last 6 - 12 months, which is a pretty good run for a cheap adapter
if your sound is quiet, use the button on the radio to flip to side B
sound is great, set your device to medium/high volume and you should be good to go
Regardless, worth it for the money I paid for it!
There was a little bit of static when I first plugged it in, and after being originally disheartened I figured out how to make it work!
I have the iPhone 4S and I just turned the volume down (on my phone) by three notches and turned down the treble by a little bit and now it works perfectly for me. My friends are jealous because they paid ten dollars for theirs! haha!
Just do what I did and you should be fine, of course it's not going to sound perfect the first time, look at the price, but if you can compensate by doing what I did, it's definitely the best bang for your buck!
