Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide, experts in the fields of gifted education and learning differences, presented this 2 1/2 hour Live Webinar for an international audience of parents, teachers, psychologists, and other professionals working with Gifted and Twice Exceptional Children.
Gifted Dyslexics are a remarkably talented group of individuals who may be misunderstood and under-identified in conventional educational or gifted educational systems. Often they are recognized as bright, but underachieving or misdiagnosed with ADD. Many gifted dyslexics miss being identified because their reading comprehension score are high although individual word decoding is hard and spelling and writing are effortful.
The Eides explain why students are "stealth dyslexics" whose dyslexic challenges and gifted abilities fly under the radar of detection. In this webinar, they discuss how dyslexia presents differently in gifted children, what accommodations are necessary at different levels of education (K-college), how giftedness and dyslexia tends to present in families, and most importantly how positive talents can be recognized and developed.
Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide conclude the conference discussing Dysgraphia and Writing Challenges in Gifted Students, including topics such as the causes and different types of writing challenges and effective approaches to overcoming these writing struggles.
The conference concludes with a highly engaging and informative question and answer session with the audience. The DVD consists of the Powerpoint sessions with audio and the question and answer session that followed.
Praise for the Eides' Gifted / 2E Webinars:
"Exceptionally good! Bravo!!!"
"That was by far one of the best presentations I've ever heard --
whether in person or by webinar. The information was extremely informative and timely. It means so much to have your intuition validated by the research and experts in the field. Finally, someone
addressing written expression. Finally, someone addressing stealth dyslexics"!

The only reason for 3 stars is there are a couple of quality issues with the DVD, but nothing to take away from the material.
