I don't normally write reviews because I am just too busy but this one is important if it will save others my disappointment:
I spent $550 on this "MULTIFLOOR" Dyson when it first came out and was so excited thinking i made an amazing purchase after all my research etc. After 3 years of almost never vacuuming because it was just too discouraging I just sold this vacuum used to someone with all hard floors. This vacuum does not have good suction for carpets at all and i had plenty of carpets. When using it on carpet I had to go over each area 4-5 times and still had to bend over repeatedly to dislodge threads and crumbs that it wouldn't pick up. And even after vacuuming the carpets looked the same as before almost. It would take me 10 minutes to vaccuum a very small room - not exaggerating! I hated this vacuum with a passion…it is only appropriate if you have all hard floors and perhaps one large area rug. Also note -turbineheads are LAME! I didn't want to give up on Dyson so I ordered a full size canister vacuum with a motorhead which is blowing my mind with its awesomeness. No point getting the smaller vacuum if it's not worth using…seriously this vacuum turned me off vacuuming…if you have carpets…DON'T DO IT!

This is a little smaller than I expected, with a brush head just over 8 inches wide. However, it has a good amount of suction, and in a small apartment, which is tiled, with a few square feet of low carpet and one sofa, it does what I need. The HEPA filter is great - no nasty dust smell.

The beater bar broke after a few uses, but Dyson replaced the brush head without a quibble. The person I spoke to was very helpful.

This is my second refurbished Dyson, which has held up well. As long as the beater bar isn't poorly designed I expect this machine will too.

Like my big Dyson, this one picks up pretty much everything. It doesn't take much storage space and I can just vacuum the whole apartment before having to empty the canister. I would have given it five stars, but the rotary carpet brush jams up if sucks in hair or lots of junk from the carpets.

A total piece of garbage. Ended up pulling the old Sears vacuum out of retirement after a month of use. Constant need to disassemble the head to clean out hair and fibers that collect and restrict flow and usefulness. When I called service to ask why I needed to spend 1/2 hour disassembling every other use they blamed the fact I have a dog and 5 kids! The dog is a beagle...they don't shed. The kids? Not so sure, but still, have been vacuuming for some 20 years and never had to deal with such nonsense...suction is powerful, but what good is it if the design is flawed! Choose another....

Might want to look at the non-refurbed unit 1 and 2 star reviews for more frustrated buyers.

I have other Dyson vacs I was tired of carrying the large upright up/downstairs. It was always on the wrong floor when I needed it. It was reconditioned, by the way and I have had it for over 6 years. So when I saw this small one I thought it would be perfect for downstairs to pick up dog hair in the kitchen & mudroom. With 3 fluffy white shedding dogs, I really needed this. This model has a smaller canister but it doesn't bother me. When it's full, I just dump it and keep going. I'm never that far from a trashcan.

Absolutely the best for hard floors, beats anything out there. Also, the lightness makes it very maneuverable and eliminates fatigue. I still use my upright for the few carpets I have, I think that gets carpet dirt out better.

This is an excellent product just like my other Dyson vacuum cleaners. The only downside is the cord is not as long as a full size vacuum cleaner. That means I add an extension cord rather than stopping and re-plugging the machine before I finish vacuuming the space. Not a big enough deal to impact the number of stars I give the product.

After spending many weeks researching vacuums I decided to buy this one and I couldn't be happier. I live in a small apartment with a cat and suffer from horrible allergies. I wanted something small and compact, yet effective with a HEPA filter and this had all of the above. This is my first Dyson and my first time buying a refurbished item and I'm glad I was able to buy a great product at a discount! I love how powerful the suction is and how the attachments really gets into the little nooks and crannies of the apartment that a bigger vacuum can't. The only negative I would say is that the canister is fairly small and fills up fast; however, that was only a problem the first time using it (since it was picking up dust/dirt/etc that my old vacuum wasn't). Since I've been keeping up with vacuuming every couple of days, it hasn't been an issue since. Sometimes the rotating head brush stops spinning (usually when I hit it against something), but it's easy to get going again. Overall, I highly recommend it!
