I bought this because there is no dock with USB or HD outlets for the Droid Maxx. I used a docking station all the time at work with my Droid Bionic and was disappointed the options were dropped with the Maxx, but this makes it so simple. As a side note - there is a lag if you use Miracast to connect your phone to a monitor while the Bluetooth connection is active, but that is no fault of this dongle.
After a couple months I still love this device. A couple notes:
1) To run the dongle with Miracast you have to initialize Miracast first, then connect the dongle. It can't connect in the other order.
2) The dongle will not work in conjunction with my wireless connection. For some reason I can hook to Miracast but cannot connect with my wireless router while the EasyBlue is active.
This works for all my BlueTooth enabled smart gadgets.
1.Blackberry Playbook: Mouse and keyboard are working perfectly. I can copy any text from my pc to my playbook easily.
2.Apple iPhone 3GS: Only the keyboard works not for mouse. This is iOS limitation I think.
3.Sony VAIO TT: mouse and keyboard works without issue. Just like other bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Only one more thing I want is 1:N multipoint support. If than I could switch around more than 2 devices. Currently I should disconnect one if I need to connect 2 different devices.
ADDED after receiving my New iPad: This works as expected though the mouse is not supported in iOS as described in the manual.
All in all this product is great and I would highly recommend it to anybody who has a requirement to use the physical keyboard and mouse of your PC on the connected device.
I first tried it with the phone - worked perfect! It is so nice to be able to use a real, full size keyboard with a phone. It paired easily, and both the keyboard and mouse worked. Was kinda fun to see the mouse pointer on the phone.
Only drawbacks are the scroll wheel for the mouse, the TAB key, and the keypad on the keboard don't work. But for taking notes for the phone, inputting info into the tablet, etc it is great.
Highly recommend it.
The pairing is a snap: just run the small executable stored in the dongle and follow the directions. Once it is pared, your smartphone/tablet/whatever supporting Bluetooth input devices can be controlled with your existing keyboard and mouse.
The switching between PC and phone is as easy as pressing ctrl+Up key. Including the control switching key, many hot keys are customizable in your own flavor (e.g. switching between input languages). You can even instantly copy texts from PC screen to your phone with the familiar method of "ctrl+C" and "ctrl+V".
This is very useful at workplace, since you don't have to grab your phone to type in. Just leave the phone on a cradle and use your mouse/keyboard to reply to your phone messages.
The biggest limitation is the mouse functionality not being supported in iPhone and iPad. However, this is Apple's restriction: Apple does not support Bluetooth mouse currently. I REALLY wish that a future version of iOS supports Bluetooth mouse. For android (and all other) phones/tablets, navigating and activating the apps/buttons with a mouse is a totally new experience already.
