I had to go up one size because my usual size was a little too narrow for my me; I have a slightly wide foot. Otherwise, I would have given them 5 stars.
This shoe complements casual slacks, like khakis and jeans.
I didn't get a chance to break them in before my trip, but between these shoes and my SmartWool socks, my feet were very comfy during my two week trip (walking and standing for about 8 hours every day)
I was not disappointed. They are just as comfortable as the previous pair and feel much more durable. The leather for the upper is thick yet pliable. It took a day or so of wearing around to get broken in. The shoes are slightly heavier than the mesh upper version and they don't breathe quite as well, which was to be expected.
You should be forewarned, however, that the soles are very thin. This took me by surprise when I bought my first pair and I expected the lack of padding to lead to foot discomfort. Everyone's feet are different so your mileage may vary on how they feel, but my feet in particular love these shoes. I tend to walk on the outside of my foot, which causes most padded shoes to either compress on the outer edge and eventually lose it's spring-back, or the tread will wear on the outside first. Either way, I end up walking with my feet rolling out. The Biom Lites have no room for compression and the tread at the bottom seems to wear somewhat evenly, with slightly more wear at the ball of the foot.
I generally go through shoes very quickly and my last pair of Biom Lites lasted me longer than average. I feel pretty confident that with the build quality of this pair they will last me even longer. I will update my review if I find that they do not.
