A Fit Like No Other
ECCO designs footwear to meet your needs, whether you're taking the stairs, walking around the city all day, or scrambling over rocky slopes; ECCO delivers superior fit, durability, support and flexibility. Our advanced construction techniques and continuous exploration in materials science add up to comfort you can count on. You'll notice the difference immediately - and at the end of an intense hike or after walking a dozen blocks uptown, you'll continue to appreciate the difference of ECCO.
The ECCO Freedom Fit
Conventional shoes fit across your feet at the toes, restricting the way your toes spread as you walk. ECCO's Freedom Fit is different; it offers a roomy toe box and fits more narrowly from heel to instep, suitable for most widths. Toes spread naturally to support your weight and foster a more comfortable walking experience. Feet of nearly all widths feel good in ECCO, comfort straight from the box.
ECCO is one of the very few manufacturers to have its own tanneries where it processes its own hides and leathers. This ensures that ECCO has the highest quality control from raw materials to finished shoe. The various highly advanced processes and treatments, to which the hides are subjected, always reflect the look and specific function of the product. This ensures a perfect match of form and function.
ECCO Comfort Fibre System
This exclusive inlay sole is designed with a vegetable-tanned leather surface. Underneath is a soft layer of unique, moisture-absorbent foam; treated with AGION for long-lasting and effective control of bacteria and odor. The pumping effect of the foam is activated as you walk- pushing air through tiny holes in the lining to create comfortable air circulation around the foot.
Polyurethane (or PU) is a manufactured material that can take the place of rubber. PU is the longest lasting material for outsoles; often lasting 2-3 times longer than traditional materials. In an ECCO shoe, PU is made to be flexible and shock absorbing; requiring little to no break-in period and allowing the wearer to be comfortable longer. PU also retains is shape or 'Memory' longer, allowing the wearer the same support from the first day to the last in their ECCO shoes.
These ECCO shoes have a nylon or TPU shank allowing the wearer to breeze through some security checkpoints without removing their shoes.
Direct Injection Process
Direct inject Production or DIP is a highly specialized process in which ECCO is a world leader. This discipline represents the core competence of ECCO sole technology- and one of the secrets behind the special and famous 'instant fit' of an ECCO shoe.
It’s a process where the upper is placed into the mould, and liquid polyurethane (PU) is injected to shape the and anatomically correct midsole and / or outsole. Robot precision ensures a consistent quality regardless of the production location.
Step up your style with the ECCO Fusion Bike Toe Tie. The leather/oiled leather upper of this men's lace up features of-the-moment styling. ECCO’s Comfort Fibre System includes a removable, leather-covered insole that conforms to your foot for comfort, and a moisture-absorbing circulation system for a cool climate. This go-anywhere ECCO sneaker’s polyurethane outsole absorbs shock, while a padded leather lining cushions step after step. Wear the ECCO Fusion Bike Toe Tie to the office or a night on the town.
This moc oxford from ECCO is the perfect Fusion of sporty and classy. Its pebbled leather upper and rich detailed topstitching bring rugged good looks into play, while its breathable lining and padded footbed will comfort you in every step of your busy day.See all Product description

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
However! There is one problem and it's a big one. As another reviewer said, it squeaks! REAL BAD. On linoleum, and some types of tiles. Basically most surfaces with a polish.
I've scoured the internet looking for a fix, but no one seems to know how to stop a shoe that squeaks on certain but not all surfaces. All the advice available seems to be for internal squeaking (two materials rubbing together). Or to walk differently. But again, it only squeaks on polished surfaces so I know it's not in the shoe! The only think that stops it is if the sole gets wet (like if I walk in from the rain). Then it doesn't squeak, for a while, but as soon as it gets dry, squeak!
Anyway, I've been wearing it daily since May, thinking the squeak will eventually wear away but nope. Still going strong. In fact I don't know if it's me being paranoid but I feel like it has gotten LOUDER!
It really sucks 'cause that aside, I really love this shoe. It's still comfortable and a good fit. Even for my wide feet. And it looks great!
It's just the damn squeaking man. Damn.
I expected these would be a perfect fit, as my previous pair was purchased for a much higher price at a mall store. That time around, I knew I was paying for the privilege of trying them on. Hopefully ECCO keeps making these, as they may be my go-to for the foreseeable future.
I'd guess that the sizing is quite reliable, as I'm almost always a "44" or "10.5" with just a couple exceptions. I favor shoes with a more "square" toe-box, and although they don't necessarily look that way, they provide ample room, which is often a problem for me. I wear these shoes all day, every day, and have done a considerable amount of international travel and the requisite extensive walking that one may imagine.
The only "maybe" I have on the fit questions is the arch support. It's there, but I could use more. I had some insoles in the previous pair that I'll probably move over to these at some point.
UPDATE (2/22/14): I applaud ECCO's customer service, specifically Ms. Karen Stokkelan!
After a few months of non-regular use (and the shoes are well within the prescribed warranty period), the multi-layer insoles on both (Fusion Casual Oxfords, Black and Coffee) sets separated. After a series of email exchanges, Ms. Stokkelan expressed, "We will definitely send you out insoles for you shoes! We do not want to lose you as a valuable customer. ECCO is known for taking care of their customers and we will also be taking care of you the same way." I couldn't be happier with the shoes, or ECCOs commitment to a long-standing, loyal customer. Thank you, ECCO! OCTrojan
Given my long-standing history with Ecco, I did not have any issues with sizing.
It's painfully obvious that Ecco is using lesser-quality leather (profit over quality, unfortunately) of late, but they still look and wear rather nicely. After a full week or regular use, perspiration isn't an issue, as experienced with my Rockport's and Timberland's (Oxfords); I haven't experienced any noise from the soles, while walking on Travertine or polished concrete flooring, but that may have been mitigated by my limiting the shoes to the carpet for the first day's use.
These shoes compliment jeans and dress shorts... already received a number of compliments.
I love their design and comfort and have decided to get the brown ones, too (and another black one to serve as a reserve).
