Update 11/17/17: Seeds sprouted and growing in days. I bought a 2nd unit to grow more organic greens. This is fun!
I would totally go back at put more stars here, but at this point I'm a bit upset. When I first set up the tank, it told me to put it on low for the water pump. I did and the water was still very vigourous, so I tried it the other way just in case. It looks pretty much identical, and I couldn't tell the difference.
Instead I went ahead and put everything together including the little black piece that would help with the splashing on the water. It wasn't contained all the way however, so I decided I would put tape around the area to prevent further spilling. I also set my aquarium on top of a protective sheet in order to protect my TV stand that I had just bought.
For a few weeks, the tape seemed to work, but more recently however it started to spill. I went ahead and added duct tape on top of it this morning, so hold everything together, but there was still a huge puddle next to the aquarium when I came home. It had raised the wood in my TV stand, which has not been ruined. I'm even scared to move the aquarium to see how badly the water spread. I tried to wipe everything up with a paper towel as soon as possible, and have now turned the pump off to prevent future damage, but I don't know if I can use the Eco-cycle aquaponics set with the pump.
I don't know what to do. I wish I could turn the pump down manually. Please help.
