LIVA-X2 with Linux

I installed full GUI CentOS-7 (red hat Linux). It required M.2 storage - 60GB@ $32. Works perfectly. Application is a portable thin client. Note; application only requires a minimum of 1GB memory and 10GB storage (unlike the equivalent Windows-10). I know that Fedora has eMMC drivers, but Fedora (red hat's latest and greatest) is too unstable for my taste.
The LIVA-X2 plays HD DD 5.1 movies at 1080p flawlessly (requires the dextop nux repository for VLC). I can also do audio mixes with audacity without problems or operational degradation. I used a USB Dual Pro by ART, ADAC for audio input at 96 K s/sec (CD quality is 44 K s/sec)
Note: the maximum CPU core temperature peaked an 114 F and a 104 F 2 hour average during testing

What I like about this PC is that I can sit it ...

It's small, cheap and works for basic computing.

What I like about this PC is that I can sit it under my TV and fire it up anytime I need to do Windows based tasks; I use it for flashing cell phones and tablets. It's also good for web browsing, office work and HD multimedia.

I haven't tried to play games on it and I wouldn't try, but for basic everyday stuff it's great.

It works surprisingly well on W10 considering it only has 2GB of ram. However, if you overload it with too many tasks then it will slow down. Keep no more than a few things open at a time and it works like a charm.

If you buy this thinking it will run games and power hungry apps then you will be sorely disappointed; however, if you use it for similar stuff above and are reasonable with your expectations, then you will find this a bargain.
