First the mover started to cut off and wouldn’t start, the battery was fully charged, clearly was a mower issue. The only way to start the mower was to collapse the handle then fully extend and it would run for maybe 2-5 minutes before shutting down. Since it was under warranty I called EGO and they told me to take it back to HD. I brought this into the tool rental at HD and the guy told me these mowers are bad and he wouldn’t touch it. I called EGO and they sent me to a different HD. This HD agreed to look at the mower but it would cost me $20.00 for them to look at it. They had the mower for about two weeks before they realized they would have to send this out for repair, they will call me when it’s back. This was 8 WEEKS AGO! I called HD several times, they keep telling me they will call me when it’s in, I think they’re tired of me calling, I must be putting them out.
I called EGO and they tracked the mower to a HD in Atlanta, I live in WI. They told me they were waiting on a part and would call me when the mower was fixed. A few days later I got a call saying the mower was fixed and would take up to 14 days to be returned to the HD I dropped it off at. 25 days later NO mower. I called HD NO mower, I called EGO, the rep said the mower was on its way I should have this by Sept 1st, today is Sept 5th no mower…
If you only need to cut grass for one season then this is a great mower, if you can go months without cutting your grass during the summer time while HD/EGO has your mower this one might be for you.
I wonder where my mower is today, I wonder if I’ll ever see it again. Maybe it will show up around the first snow fall just in time for me to tuck into the shed for a long winter, so I can start this whole process over again.
Some reviewers have had issues on warranty and repair. I bought mine from an independent dealer just down the street from Home Depot. It was the floor model, but that was OK, because my lawn needed mowing after 9 nine days since the last one. I got it home to discover the headlights wouldn't turn off. I mowed the lawn and called the dealer the next morning. I took it back. (That was a breeze--folded it up and stowed it in the back of my hatchback.) Once demonstrated to the dealer, they sent me back home with the same mower, told me to keep using it until the new one arrived. I didn't get another chance to mow my lawn with it again; the new mower arrived within that week. When I arrived, the company rep was there, so I had a chance to speak with him, too. Great customer service all around in my case.
The mower is still relatively new and performing well. It won't mow the whole lawn with one charge, but it does it in less than two charges. This actually works for me, as I can take a drink break, do a little trimming, and by then both the battery and me are ready to finish the last third. I took a leap of faith and hope I'm still happy five years from now.

It runs at modest power most of the time and gives it the beans when in thick heavy grass/weeds or a lot of leaves.Read more
