It use the same ATmega328 as official Arduino UNO R3 board. The ATmega328 on the UNO R3 comes preprogrammed with a bootloader that allows you to upload new code to it without the use of an external hardware programmer.
The ATmega328 has 32 KB (with 0.5 KB occupied by the bootloader). It also has 2 KB of SRAM and 1 KB of EEPROM (which can be read and written with the EEPROM library).
It use the same ATmega16U2 as official Arduino UNO R3. The ATmega16U2 firmware source code is available in the official repository. The ATmega16U2/8U2 is loaded with a DFU bootloader, which can be activated.
The ELEGOO UNO R3 board can be powered via the USB connection.

This version has the 16U2 interface chip. You don't have to track down and install sketchy CH340 drivers. It looks like a genuine UNO to the programming environment.
It has the removable "DIP" package 328 processor. You may not need it, but it makes it possible to program your own chips and install them elsewhere ... or you can replace it if you fry the processor.
The headers have the pin assignments printed on the outside, as well as on the board. Same as a genuine UNO, and very handy.
They just work. Unlike some of the ultra cheap boards with 50% success rate I've bought and regretted. And they don't try to pass these off as "Genuine" like some of them do. I feel that these are the best option if you are buying a clone.

Uploaded sketches and tested basics. Looks and feels higher quality than other Arduino brands. You can tell they are doing a great job on designs. Everything is labeled perfectly and packaged like professionals. Double anti statics bag protection and sturdy box.
If you are looking for high quality and a very fair price then Elegoo has very good deals to make electronic design available for the world without sacrificing quality or cutting corners.
My wife asked today if I had a favorite brand to buy electronics from and this is the best quality for the best price around. I've tried other kits. Won't name them all like SunF.. and they just lack quality.
This is definately what your looking for if new or starting to learn Arduino. The design and side labels of pins make it very efficient to prototype on.
Elegoo is a chinese company with no ties to Arduino. The Arduino circuit design is open-source, meaning anyone can manufacture their own, with the consequence of also allowing foreign companies to undersell Arduino’s official boards by manufacturing them at a massive scale. Some companies make counterfeit boards , others, like Elegoo, manufacture them under their own brand using the Arduino schematics.
Quality is questionable of course, but at the price it sells - worth a try.
This UNO R3 board is well made and solder connections are very nice.This Uno R3 board is great prototyping tool for electronic project and this board has got 14 digital input/output pins, 6 analog inputs, USB connection, a power jack, reset button etc. This microcontroller can be used by connecting it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with an AC to DC adapter. Also, it comes with the USB cable. I tested this UNO board with existing Arduino sketches and they worked.
Pins are printed on the headers, which is a nice touch.
Also comes with a snazzy USB cable. I immediately went out and bought two more as stocking stuffers for young nerdlings in the family. I don't think you can go wrong at this price.
I haven't had any issues yet, and have had no problem programming it with the Arduino IDE. The default COM port seems different than what the Arduino uses, but it's no big deal once you make the appropriate change in the IDE.

Whenever I buy an arduino for a project now, I get an elegoo. All my creations run on them. I think this is the cheapest they get without having to visit dodgy Chinese websites to install the drivers. I've had one hooked up to a permanent project that's plugged in 24/7. It's been months now, no issues at all. Fantastic value.

Das ist bei dem Preis geradenoch akzeptabel, da die Funktionsfähigkeit nicht beeinträchtigt ist - solange man kein shield
Wer erst mit dem experimentieren mit Arduino anfangen will, dem empfehle ich den Original Arduino Uno zum Einstieg.
Die Lieferung erfolgte wie von Amazon gewohnt schnell und pünktlich - einzig der Paketdienst H***** hat wohl Schwierigkeiten mit Türklingeln, da zum wiederholten male das Paket vor die Tür gestellt wurde. Nicht gerade ideal bei kälteempfindlichen Produkten und minusgraden...
Aufgrund meiner Rezession habe ich von Elegoo kostenlosen Ersatz erhalten. Verglichen mit der ersten Lieferung ist die neue Hauptplatine ohne Mängel, top Verarbeitung und gerade sitzende Anschlüsse.
Der Service von Elegoo ist absolut super, da ich nicht mit einem kostenlosen Ersatz gerechnet habe. Ich war sehr positiv Überrascht.

ORIG: It arrived, packaged pine, but it was not recognised by Win7 when I connected via USB. I did some googling and it seems the bootloader is not loaded to the arduino. The only way to load the bootloader is via another working arduino. So I will return this one.
UPDATE: I just ordered a second (how stupid am I), the second one also does not work! I noticed the first board looked like it had the official USB controller chip (QU18 or something), but this one had something different (a1shr and another chip has AMS1175.0 Q1818). I will return the second one - I won't buy another. This board is probably good if you are already an expert with Arduino's and can load a bootloader to it (you need another working arduino to do that I believe).
UPDATE2 (same day to update 1): So - I got it working. Download Arduino IDE and save to desktop. Go to Device Manager, Right Click on Unidentified Device, Update Drivers, browse to the Driver sfolder of the Arduino download (I downloaded the zip and saved to program files), then let windows do it's thing (I didn't specifiy any particular folder, just pointed it at 'drivers' in that arduino folder I downloaded from the official site), then it worked. Device shows up as arduino, and the IDE blink test works (note the LED was blinking all the time anyway, so I changed the blinktest value to 10seconds, 10000 so i knew it had uploaded). Now to have some fun!
I also like the fact that the various pin names are printed clearly on the Dupont connectors along both sides of the board, making careless connection mistakes less likely and is one of the main reasons I chose this make of board over another similarly priced unit. They also include a little card with a link to what they call a tutorial for all the OS platforms, though which is actually an installable version and a zipped version of the Arduino IDE. Not all board manufacturers make it easy by including such a link with some expecting you to contact them but with no instruction to do so when you buy their board. Perhaps they believe in ESP and hence you will know what to do :)
All in all I'm well pleased with this UNO and looking forward to some playtime with it over the weekend.
