As a northeasterner, I initially thought Australian ugg boots were meant to be suitable for winter outdoor wear, but while shopping around learned they are meant for indoor, dry weather/terrain, or warm climate use. As I was also shopping for winter slippers, I noticed that prices for insulated or shearling slippers cost about the same as for these authentic Australian not-made-in-china ugg style boots. So I bought these as winter slippers that I could also use to take out the garbage, or run dry-weather out-of-the-house errands or short dog walks.
These are light and comfortable. They feel plush and comfy in bare feet, tight in medium weight socks, and best wearing thin dress socks. I bought a size 10 and almost always wear a size 9; the fit is perfect. The sheepskin uppers come with some degree of water resistant stuff on them. A smattering of light rain won't cause harm but don't get them wet.Read more ›
when order placed. They arrived on time, and are comfy/cozy
and warm. Hightly recommended, just wish the price was
in double digits
NOTE: Be sure to get the one's labeled PLATINUM because I can not vouch for the others.
The only negative thing I could say is that the back tends to slide up and down on your heel a bit while walking but its not that big of a deal, especially if you're a fan of looser shoes.
So after a few months of wearing these I felt like I had to update my review.
These are still comfortable to wear, but only around the house or to trips to the grocery store.
I've tried wearing these to school or just as I would regular shoes in day to day life and they become very uncomfortable to wear, my feet, legs and back get achy and tired to the point that I wish I would have just worn my tennis shoes. I do however love wearing them around the house, or if I'm running to the store or any place where I know for sure that walking will be very limited.
I wear socks with my boots because they do end up being a little too roomy once the fur settles in and as a result I have to reach down and pull my socks back up every now and then, not a deal breaker but a minor inconvenience.
Finally, the thin rubber sole seems to be coming off but that appears to be the only structural damage and as I plan to wear them around the house only it doesn't bother me too much but the fact that its only been a few months of moderate light use is cause for warning.

Note on getting a 1/2 size small is good advice. I'm not sure of the waterproof character, since I'm wearing mostly inside. Read morePublished on January 24, 2013 by JM
