Our road-trip started out as a one-year travel holiday for my husband and I, but it soon became clear that we were learning more about each other, more rapidly than we had in our, then, 25 years together – hence road-trips and relationships.
Travel the world with Elora as she navigates external and internal delights on her path to finding her voice.
Elora speaks openly and with vulnerability about her relationships across all dynamics.
EN ROUTE: The Best is Yet To Be - covers the challenges and elations of travelling in a campervan, fighting off cabin fever and coyote's and peeling away relationship detritus as Elora and her husband travel the world. A sizeable segment of their travels included family and friends which came with its own humour of entanglement and unexpected train rides. Included are the growing pains endured along the way as Elora discusses her angst in coping with what should be a memorable adventure.
Elora's candid disclosures are sometimes sombre, sometimes humourous, always enlightening.
REVIEW:
By Barbara Randell
Elora takes us on a world tour, through America, Europe, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, South Africa, and even parts of Australia. We visit some tourist sites, but do not see them through the glitz and glamour of the tourist brochures. Most of the time, we visit places that tourists never see, the homes of people just like us, but whom we have never met.
Elora’s husband is her constant companion through her travels, and we learn about their mutual likes and dislikes. Learning to accept and love each other more strongly, despite those differences, is one of the outcomes of their travels.
Frequently they are joined by other family members, and close friends. Elora watches their interaction with each other, and draws lessons from them, which should benefit us all. She returns home, a wiser stronger woman.
