Benefits of Humidification
The Sweet Spot
If some sour notes are coming from your piano or guitar, you might be missing something other than musical talent. Some instruments require humidity to retain their proper shape, strength and sound. Utilizing an AIRCARE humidifier and hygrometer, you can maintain the 40 to 60% humidity level recommended to keep the music playing.
Save Energy and Money
Dry air sheds heat easily driving up your heating bill. Releasing moisture into the air via an AIRCARE humidifier can help. By adding water molecules to the air, you help increase your home’s heat retention while allowing you to reduce the temp on your thermostat. Some Department of Energy studies show you can save around 3% on your energy bill for every 1-2 degrees you reduce your thermostat.
For the Love of Dog
Hate suffering from dry skin? So do our four-legged friends. Dry indoor air can cause pet skin to become itchy and flakey, and while scratching may relieve their discomfort, it increases ours by sending hair and dander flying into the air. Show them some love by adding healthy, clean water vapor into the air with an AIRCARE humidifier while trapping airborne dust and dander in our humidifier wicks and filters.
Our innovative Tower humidifier with stylish surface insert is sure to compliment any decor. Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50percent in your home/office/workplace has been Scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity makes you feel warmer allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money. This is an evaporative humidifier and essential oils can damage the unit.

UPDATE: Been using this humidifier for almost two years now and could not be happier with it. After years of trying out multiple different units, which all resulted in issues with mildew building up, filters being disgusting, and the humidifiers not really doing their job, this one really works. No more waking in the middle of the night with dry coughing and feeling like a lizard with dry skin. This product has dramatically improved our lives. Highly recommended. I take the time to review purchases because I know that I rely on them myself and I like to try to help others make informed decisions. I saw many good and bad reviews about this humidifier, but I decided to give a shot.
-Sound: Many people say that it is just too loud! For me, it doesn't sound like a jet. There are 9 speeds you can set. Even 9, it is not that bad. On top of it, Level 1 speed can still moist our whole house !!!
-The place you pour water: People also complain about this area is too small to pour the water so that it is easy to spill, and it is hard to see the water level line. OK, this, I think it is just ridiculous to pour 3 gallons of water from this small area and check the water level at the same time. What I do is just simply take off the top body part and pour water into the tray directly with a big pan. It is much easier and you can do it within 3 seconds. No need to struggle not to spill the water and it is much easier to check the water level.
-Maintenance: Oh my...I just love this part. So easy to clean. You just simply take the filter part out of the tray and just wipe with a dry towel. I spray white vinegar and water mixed homemade detergent and wipe.
It does a great job and I do not think I can find any better humidifiers which work like this with this price!!!
I will definitely buy this in the future again, and yes, I will recommend this to my friend!
I felt that this humidifier performed extremely well and I am very happy with my purchase. I placed the unit in our living room near a center wall about a foot out (between and couch and a chair). I had no problem with the humidistat on the unit. I had a stand alone humidistat in the kitchen and humidity levels were consistently 4-5 percent lower in the kitchen, but that seems reasonable to me. I'm no meteorologist, but I assume that mixing the air up with a ceiling fan would help provide more consistent humidity levels through your home (especially if you moved air in the room you place the unit), but of course the humidity levels were lower in the bedrooms down the hall. The air near the humidifier is naturally going to have a higher humidity level since that is where you are putting moisture into the air, so I don't think you can fault the unit.
When I first received the unit, I was impressed with its looks. The entire unit is plastic but it is heavy duty stuff and looks just as good after a season as when I first received it. The entire unit is also fairly light with most the weight residing with the fan at the top of the unit (obviously this changes when you fill it with water). It basically comes in two parts: the bottom reservoir that holds the filter and water, and the fan and exterior housing that slips onto and over the top of that.
I was a little worried when after only 4 weeks the unit told me to replace the filter, but I simple flipped and turned the filter over and it lasted me until April. Bonus that the replacement filter is very affordable costing less than $20 on Amazon Prime. AIRCARE 1043 Replacement Space Saver Wick
The unit itself looks good and blended well with our new dark flooring and furniture. The engineering is very simple and effective. This thing has a very powerful fan, which I love, and can make a lot of noise, but you have 9 speeds to choose from which is great. Even at a 4-5 speed, this unit put plenty of moisture in the air on dry days (enough to keep up with out running continuously). If you set the thing for say 50% humidity, it seems to get up to about 52-53% before it shuts off and maybe lets the humidity level down to 48% or so for a few minutes before it turns back on. The only gripe I have is that it needs to be filled so often, but at 3.5 gallons, I feel like complaining about this would be complaining that the unit works too well. If your home is dry, this thing will put a lot of humidity in the air quickly which means you will need to refill more often. I actually like the design for filling the reservoir and with a decent pitcher with a spout, I was able to minimize any spillage. Also, this humidifier sits on casters so if you have hard floors like myself, you can roll the sucker closer to your water source if that is easier than filling a gallon container up more than once to tap off the humidifier.
I used the EssickAir Humidifier Bacteriostatic Treatment Essick Air 1970 Humidifier Bacteriostatic Treatment, 1-Quart maybe once or twice a week (the instructions say to use it every time you fill your reservoir, but that seemed like to much work) and had no issues with mold or stale smelling water. And I easily have 4/5 of a bottle left of the treatment.
The floor did great and everyone one in the family noticed that our skin didn't dry out so much this winter. I am glad we made the purchase.
I assembled the humidifier just as the instructions said, and followed the usage procedures exactly, yet the small 200 sq.ft. room it was in never reached above 23% humidity. Even after consistently running for over a week. The humidity in the room prior to using any humidifier at all was already 23%, meaning running the humidifier made absolutely NO impact at all.
I reached out to Essick Air to see what could be done, and was told to send them my receipt & serial number, which I did. After not hearing back for 2 weeks I again tried to reach out to check the status of my inquiry, no reply. It's been a month and I still have not heard back. I would absolutely prefer to return it, but given the fact that it's enormous, I'm not sure how I will be able to without paying an absurd amount for shipping.
In summary - Terrible product. Terrible customer service. Don't waste your money.

I have purchased many humidifiers over the years. Some were good and some not so much. The Aircare EP9 800 is definitely on my good list. It was easy to assemble right out of the box. It is compact and looks great. It is also fairly quiet on low speed. so therefore I would highly recommend this product.
I'd have given it 5 stars except that the filling arrangement is very finicky: we needed to buy a pail with a small spout to avoid spilling water on the floor. I plan to plumb in an automatic filler to reduce the effort of adding up to 2 pails of water daily during very cold temperatures.
Also it's difficult to tell when you've hit the "full" point, although you can make an educated guesstimate.
The unit detects the humidity level quite accurately though. And it's very simple to assemble and operate.
