The summers here are so hot and humid that mowing a sizeable yard can be unbearable or even impossible for some people. My father is almost 70 and can no longer tolerate such exposure so I had the idea to add some kind of external lighting to his small riding mower to allow him to cut the grass at later hours when the sun isn't beating down and the temperature has started to drop. I came across this product and decided that the price was so good that trying it out couldn't hurt. I did have to find some additional mounts at a local tractor supply store but I mounted this to the mower's small front pushbar. I got lucky because I was able to simply disconnect the existing headlights and re-route the wiring to this light bar with no need for any kind of relay. But be aware that this may not be the case depending on what you want to attach this to. Once everything was mounted and wired, it came on just as easily as using the existing headlights. Since this light bar was designed to be used on much larger vehicles, the output far exceeds what I wanted it to do but this is not a bad thing. It is easily bright enough to illuminate his one-acre backyard from one side to the other even though it is far more light than he needs.
Even though I have not used this light bar on any road-going vehicles, I can say that it's full-metal body is very sturdy and that the 24 LEDs provide a LOT of crisp forward illumination. And as far as full-scale vehicles go, I don't think that I would use it for any kind of rigorous off-roading because the bolts and mounting equipment, along with the unit itself, are rather small and there is no protection for the actual lights. And although It is described as being waterproof and does produce quite a lot of illumination, it seems like it would be better suited for an appearance upgrade more than anything else. For serious off-roading equipment, I would recommend something that is made of stronger metal and provides some kind of shielding or protection of the LED panel from debris.
