This is my 5th guitar, I have a Mexican Strat, Epiphone Les Paul, Washburn MG42, Wylde Audio Odin and recently purchased this ESP LTD KH202 from Amazon. I have always been a huge Metallica fan and enjoy chunking out some riffs, I had debated a White Zombie or KH602 but really wanted to stay below $500. I love the guitar and enjoy playing on it, however, there is some Pros and Cons about it.
Pros:
- Gorgeous design, sharp lines, and the reverse headstock is an awesome touch.
- The guitar is easy to play, slim neck, I personally don't mind thick or thin but easy to play.
- Build quality is pretty good.
Cons:
- The fretboard is not Rosewood, it is dyed Maple. I can clearly see through areas of the fretboard and I can tell the Maple Neck was dyed dark brown, the fretboard is not a separate layer of wood.
- For $500 the guitar should have come with EMG 81/85. The ESP LTD M400 is the same guitar for the same price and comes with ESP Active Pickups.
Overall I like the guitar but a little disappointed in some features. My Washburn MG42 is pretty similar and I purchased that for $300.
