The Maverick ET-733 Meat Thermometer is the newest long-range wireless meat thermometer by Maverick. This third-generation version introduces many new features to make your cooking and grilling easier and more precise The wireless receiver clips onto your belt and fits in your pocket to let you monitor your BBQ wirelessly from indoors or across the lawn. While your meat is grilling, the receiver communicates with the probe to update you in real time. It constantly displays the meat's current temperature, and can sound an alarm at any temperature you desire for a perfect cook every time. The ET-733 features a larger screen and displays both the target-high and target-low temperatures. Two probes* are included to monitor two individual things at the same time: 1 food and 1 BBQ; 2 individual foods; or 2 separate BBQs. The new larger screen displays both temperatures all the time. Setting target temperatures is even easier, with NEW preset temperatures for 6 meats and 9 game meats (Beef, Veal, Lamb, Pork, Chicken & Turkey Deer, Elk, Moose, Buffalo, Rabbit Boar, Duck, Bird & Fish). Set includes receiver, transmitter, 2 hybrid probes, 2 grill clips. Monitors 2 things at once! 1 food & 1 BBQ; or 2 foods; or 2 BBQS. 3-foot probe wires are rated for 716°F. Settings are stored even when receiver is off. Customize preset temperatures to personal taste. Adjust temperature settings by pressing HI or LO. A larm alerts you when preset temperature is reached. Loss of signal alert sounds if you go out of range for more than 60 seconds. Generous 300-foot wireless range. Select between °F and °C. 4 AAA batteries included.
*Note: 2nd-generation ET-732 model includes 1 meat probe and 1 smoker probe. Newer ET-733 includes 2 meat probes, as most people use this for Grilling and not for smoking. Extra hybrid probe is 6 feet long!

First off a more sturdy product. This product is cheaply made. CHEAP - CHEAP! Feels if you push the buttons to hard or the wrong way the unit itself will crack.
Maverick! Come on now with the 3'' probes. Why? Why not show customers you are serious about the product and offer the option of a 3'' or 6'' probes and not sell the one 6'' probe for $15.99 each. CRAZY! Your reputation carries a long way online yet it seems the cheap way is the best for this product.
The product is not hard to understand but it does take some time to get use to. It also takes some time to changes a setting where you have to push and hold three to four buttons for one correction you want to be made.
At no point in time did my product description or product information inform me that the MAVERICK ET-733 has tolerance of a -/+ (3-4) degrees. That not too bad if it was the actual tolerance. The Maverick itself seems unreliable. When doing the ice water test, the probes proved to be inaccurate and beyond the tolerance of 3 or 4 degrees +/- . Here are some pictures of the set temp of the Ice water Temp. I thought it was weird that the test probes in the boiling water did, in fact, hit 212F but failed the Ice water test. For the price of this unit, I want both to work and not just the high or low-end temp. Just my preference. This product is not worth the hassel, money, or time. I'm absolutely not interested in another Maverick. Sending this back and moving on.
***Update - June 18, 2016 *** bump it one star Up. Now a ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went to my local Academy store and purchased the Maverick ET-733 and I'm please to say That I'm satisfied with it. It's a lot easier buying it local. The only issue I had is out 5 plus smokes from REC TEC 680 the probe went out during the cooking process. Brought it back got another one and everything seems to be working just fine. Always make sure you have a back up. I Learned the hard way.
I used it to monitor the temperature of the grill and the chicken breast of a whole chicken. It notified me when it got to 10 degrees below the target internal temp, I took it off the heat, but left the probe in. About 10-15 min later it gave me another alarm that the chicken had hit my set internal temp. Perfectly cooked.
The 6ft probe was handy as my grill doesn't have a side table, but if your's does, I would suggest getting this same model with a carry case instead as the 3ft would be plenty long enough. Also the wireless range on this thing seems better than advertised. I was able to have my grill out by the lake and monitor the temps from inside my apartment.
The interface is a little confusing to set up initially, but not enough to warrant knocking a star off.
I've never used a meat thermometer before. This is great as you can monitor two meats or both ends of one to get the perfect results. Set up and clean up are easy. For long cooks, I put in after 8 hours or so, that way I don't have to change the batteries as often. I have done over 50 hours on the current batteries, so they last a while.
