I was able to fix about anything I wanted in it and I'm a big eater. I fixed a 6.4 oz noodle pack plus a 7 oz. chicken pack, plus a few veggies and still didn't boil it over the top. Perfect size for a big eater or two light eaters.
I plan on giving an update once I've had the pot for awhile and logged more miles with it. But so far so good. Yes, its quite a bit more expensive, but it had all the features I wanted, including the low sidewalls instead of the taller, deeper designs on the market. The only improvement I would look for is a locking lid or strap to keep it tight together with the pan lid. But, all in all, a very nice set.
For me, this pot is a no-brainer...as long as you keep in mind that this pot is designed for a specific use and understand that as such comes with certain compromises. The pot is made for backpacking - so the primary design goal was saving weight while still keeping the basic functionality, and Evernew achieved that goal. Pot walls are thin, and if you toss it around or put it on the bottom of your pack and then slam your pack on the floor - you will damage the pot...but as long as you are careful, it will serve you well for a very long time. I am definitely not one of the minimalist backpackers, so I like this 1.3L size. It's big enough to heat up water for tea/coffee for a few friends, and big enough to fit an 8 ounce gas container, stove, and my squishy bowl/cup set...Non-stick coating has served me well so far (took it to six 2-3 day backpacking trips already), and there are no scratches or peels - and there won't be any as long as you take a good care of it; i.e. no metal utensils, or loose metal objects inside (I usually insert gas container inside of my squishy bowl before putting it the pot). Aside from heating water, I used the pot to cook some instant noodles - again, without problems or food sticking to the bottom...but again - you have to be considerate and not blast the stove at full power - use simmer setting and you'll be fine.
I returned this set for a refund, and had to pay a 25% fee. Nothing I wrote before has changed, except that now I have reason to believe that the set I received did NOT have a NON-STICK COATING at all, rather than a coating that did not work. Why? I recently viewed a picture of this same set (same part number and overall appearance) advertised on a different web site, showing the insides of the pots. These pictures clearly showed a BLACK color inside the pots and not the uniform titanium color (inside and out) of my set. This makes me suspect that my set was probably not coated at all. I believe I was deceived. If I had only known that there was NO n/s coating on my set, I would have felt free to keep using it and simply scour out the stuck on food, rather than trying to save some delicate coating that was not even there! I might add that the company showing the black coating inside the pots had bold-faced warning messages that they would NOT honor returns at all, if the coating was scratched in any way.
