Great, No-Frills Power!

For the money, EVGA has packed a good deal of wattage and well built quality for the budget builder. Not as fancy as one of the modular power supplies but, for good old fashioned, reliable power you cannot go wrong at this price.

This power supply can mount with the fan up (old school) or with the fan down supporting cases with vented bottoms. The case I was using did not have a vented bottom area where the power supply goes so I mounted it with the fan facing up. EVGA says this is okay and has some benefit but, the unit could run a little warmer. The one disadvantage with the fan facing up is that the wiring loom exiting the power supply are farther away from the motherboard. This could make organized cable routing an issue for some depending on the size and type of the case being used. In my example, the CPU power lead was just a hair too short to route behind the mobo. A minor detail but, it did not prevent me from using the power supply. Of course YMMV.

Overall, I am pleased with this unit. It's the second EVGA power supply I have purchased and they are rock solid. Recommended!

Still Going Strong After 3-Years Service Running 24/7/365

Paid $45 for this PSU just over 3 years ago. Just pulled from my server rig and will be donating this PSU to a friend for his build. I regularly cleaned my server rig so this unit still looks new. Been running 24/7/365 (with minimal downtime) since purchase and still chugging along like it just came out the box.
Due to recent upgrades in my system, I required a PSU upgrade. Been wanting a modular PSU for awhile now and I found a great deal on a 1000W unit from Antec. I usually stick with EVGA power supplies but the selection has been limited since the COVID outbreak.
Not sure I can recommend this PSU at the current price here on Amazon as it's listed at $180 at the time of writing this review but if you can find one at $100 or less, even a used unit, so long as it was regularly cleaned/dusted it should serve you well.

I am thrilled with my new build! Everything works well together and it was all plug and play. This power supply seems to be adequate for my needs. I like the way it looks. The only thing I did not like was that the power cord was too short. I think it is the shortest cord I have ever seen for a computer power supply. It would not reach from the corner of my desk, down to the floor (at the middle of the desk), to the surge protector. I ended up using an old cord. This is the only reason I did not give the product five stars.

Read before you buy!

PSU works as it should with the correct level of output. The noise though was crazy loud and that's without any stress. The PSU i use now is much way more quiet and definitely a upgrade you honestly wouldn't hear it or know it was on until you seen the lights from the PSU. Back to this PSU there was nothing to keep it from breathing had its own breathing air and enough airway to produce as needed but the noise was still just to loud. I would've returned this product but i kept it in case of a rainy day where i need it in case of an emergency which i hope doesn't happen because id be looking for something to be coming next day air. Maybe it just wheat i had it setup to at the time that was making it work so hard but it shouldn't have or maybe it was faulty from the beginning and i still don't know unless i test it.

Needed an upgraded power supply because our newly purchased GeForce graphics card needed a connector our 2.5 year old HP computer did not have. The first PS came dead out of the package. The replacement was here in a couple days (awesome policy) and has worked fine for more than a month. Installation was fine - screws lined up and more connectors than we needed. My kid is good with the new card, playing intense games, which he says run great at the highest settings, etc. etc. We have several computers. Despite the initial trouble, I would buy another of these power supplies if needed.

Got it. Plugged everything in and it supplies power to everything. Can't say much more. It's black. It has a fan. Wires are wrapped, with plenty of connectors for all your needs. It works.
Would give it five stars but it didn't come with a pet elephant or a free trip around the world and the case wasn't made out of prehistoric whale bone, and the cables weren't wrapped in 100% platypus fur, but none of that was advertised to begin with so not EVGA's fault but technically there are billions of things it doesn't have (just close your eyes and imagine anything) or do like make me breakfast and dance when I ask it to, or ask me how my day went. Sheesh!
It does what it does and for the price was worth it! It's a power supply which from what I can tell takes power from the wall and makes it into more power and gives all the other things that need the power the power they need so I can open and run my computer and write this review.
If you get one it should do what it supposed to do but nothing more.

Cheaply made, not cheaply priced.

I had a Corsair unit before this and you can feel the quality downgrade on this 700 B1 PSU. The cable mesh is very flimsy and you can see all the rainbow color cables through it. Also the cable mesh does not even reach the end. The last 2 inches or so are uncovered. Some of the wires look like they were pulled too hard and stretched or just were not equal in length to other wires. Some are longer then others and that causes them to bend at the terminals and look odd.
-Non modular.
-Fan always runs.
-Only 3 years warranty.

It might feel like you are getting a really cheap product but at 90$ it is not priced cheaply.
