Failure to Power on

I purchased this power supply for a new computer build back in March, 2022. I tried to power on my system this morning on July, 18 2022 and the power supply failed to power up. I do not over clock anything on my system. So it concerns me about the quality of the power supply. after 4 month and a power up failure. No warning signs. If the replacement fails after 4 months i will not recommend EVGA for power supplies.

I purchased this 750BQ to replace an older model from 2013. Not much has changed in 9 years but the 750BQ is still a crazy solid performer in 2022. It runs my 3700x / 2080ti FTW3 combo without issue and I’ve never felt it get warm or struggle. These are very very good PSU’s for the money.

I have several of these power supply and consider these the best for my needs. Been using them for years. I purchased another one and the fan was making a ticking sound followed by intermittent squeezing noises. I suspect this was just a fluke, but I am returning it. I will still continue to order these power supplies in the future however. Great modular design, usually bullet proof and last for years. I suspect I just received a bad one. Great power supply though. Love them!

Would recommend highly if it's in your budget range and the main connector being hardwired in doesn't bother you. I bought this for a server/streaming rig paired with a b550/5700g 2x 4k60 pros and 1 nvme and 6 Nas drives. Zero complaints. I've never heard it even though my case is open air, zero fan vibration. I've never felt it get hot, I know I'm not running any discrete GPUs but I wanted something strong enough to handle a mid-level gpu if I decide I need one in the future. Definitely fit my price range at the time of purchase it was definitely best bang for buck across multiple websites. Would recommend. May purchase again if somebody I know requests a build in the near future.

When purchasing this PSU there was a lot of negative reviews online about it sounding like a jet engine or making a scraping noise. So far after installation, I haven't been having any of these issues, its actually quieter than the old 600watt Evga i has in my system. I never really care about the rating of a power supply as long as it can power my whole system efficiently. You wont find anything with this level of quality for the price of this. Definitely is a good purchase and is well worth the purchase.

It certainly supplies power, there's no issue there, but I've definitely seen better engineering when it comes to cables:

The two cables permanently attached are the mother board 24-pin cable (no issues there) and a second cable that has an 8-pin PCI-E output (for your video card) as well as a 6-pin output for your... uhhhh... something? They're very close together so it must be something related to your video card but not your video card.
If your video card takes two 8-pin connectors OR you have SLI or CrossFire, you need another 8-pin cable. Guess what's on the end of that 8-pin cable... another 6-pin output. So now I have two cables going to my video card with two little dangling 6-pin connectors hanging off the side. It looks horrible and isn't great for airflow. The last power supply I had, had one cable that supplied two 8-pin connections. Wonder why this one couldn't...

The second issue is the SATA power. The SATA power cables have three evenly spaced SATA connectors. Who places their SATA devices evenly apart in their computer? Nobody. If there's DVD/Blu-Ray drives, theyre right next to each other. If there's hard drives, theyre right next to each other. I know have to have two SATA power cables coming off the power supply, one to reach the DVD player, the other to reach the two hard drives. Hey EVGA, make a SATA power cable that has two close-together SATA connectors at the end of the cable and one by itself towards the center AND a separate cable that has two close-together near the center of the cable and one by itself at the end. Or better yet, make a SATA power cable that has 4 connections like my last power supply.

Because of those two issues, I have two extra cables coming off the power supply and going into my case messing up looks and airflow. A major issue? No. Hence the drop of only 1 star. But an issue nonetheless that I'm aware is fixable with better engineered cables as my prior power supply didn't have either issue.

The problem with my last one is it burnt up after 3 years, so maybe we just don't get both.

I personally love evga when it comes to a reliable power supply from a company I can trust. They have great warranties if anything goes wrong but I have never needed it my old system has a 500w version of this that still works just fine. Honestly the only reason I got this for my new build is that the 30s series cards need a bit more power than a 500w.
