Card installed with no issues. I downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia and was up an running in a few minutes. It requires no additional power from the system and the fan is very quiet.
So long as you live within the expectations of this card, you will be satisfied. Understand that this is not a card for playing Modern Warfare or Call of Duty with anywhere near decent performance. It's simply a cheap replacement card that is a step or two above your standard on-board video. With that in mind, the card excels at it's intended purpose. It has no problems driving a pair of 1920x1080 widescreen monitors used for office work, Internet surfing, watching videos and your standard facebook games.
Also I've noticed a lot of performance increase while using programs like Premiere, Flash & Photoshop CS6. There were always a lot of issues with various bugs, like freezing up when a project gets too big or I have too many windows open, ect. that I haven't seen since I got this card.
For those of you who, like me, hadn't installed a graphics card over integrated graphics, make sure you first (before installing the card) boot into safe-mode, and disable your integrated driver (Right click my computer-->properties-->go to device manager in the left panel, under display adapters--> right click your driver and disable (WIN7))
That being said, if your computer has a 400w+ power supply, I think you can get more performance out of the Radeon cards in the same price range. A lot of pre-built machines, like mine, have 300w power supply which this card supports, and the Radeon ones don't. If your not sure, search your computers make & model in Google and find the specs.
I just wanted an upgrade for my old on board video card and wanted a HDMI port for my TV.
If u order this card for that you will need a Mini HDMI to HDMI cable.
I do have sound over the HDMI cable but u can not get sound over your computer speakers at the same time.
So far it has worked great, did not really order this card for gaming but the picture on my computer monitor and TV is a lot better with this card.
An you can run two monitors, I have one computer monitor DVI and one TV Mini HDMI hooked up to mine.
Fan died lasted a little over two years, luckily I was running CPUID HWMonitor and seen the temperature going up.
I looked to see the fan hand stopped .
Luckily I had a old CPU fan that was just a little bit bigger than the heat sink.
Cut the end off the old fan and soldered it to the old fan wires and uses a bit of heat shrink tubing .
It sounds like a jet now because I cant turn it down lower (lowest setting on precision X), I think its a lot more CFM's than the old fan.
Card dose run a lot cooler but looking for a better fix.
I definitely wouldn't have bought the XFX, but it was included when I bought the used Mac Pro mentioned above. As a testament to its poor reliability, the XFX had only one working video port out of its 4, and it wasn't the HDMI port that I would've used. I'm considering asking for some money back (the $40 the 610 cost would be fitting) from the person who sold me the Mac Pro, as it was essentially dumped on me because no one would want a card with those problems.
