Style Name: GTX 980 Ti Hybrid Verified Purchase
I recently upgraded from a 780Ti to 2x Hybrid 980Ti's which I am extremely happy with. I currently live in south Texas which if you don't know is a very HOT state to live in. For this reason I opted to go with the Hybrids to cut down on the overall heat. With my 780Ti running ultra/extreme settings in games my temps were usually running at 75-80°C and this also made it very difficult to get a decent overclock on the card. Not long after that I started researching custom water loops but I found them to be imo a waste of money for a marginal performance increase so I was stuck with the stock cooler. Then EVGA made the 980Ti Hybrid and everything changed. I ordered one to start and was very happy with the performance. Idle temps were 25°C and load temps 45°C. It literally was a dream come true not to mention the performance increase. I was so happy with the Hybrid I decided to do more upgrading so I bought 1 more Hybrid and an Acer XB270HU. I'm literally blown away by the fidelity of my game play now.

I've provided a few pics of my build and benchmarks for ppl to see. FYI if you do decide to go with a Hybrid and you want to run SLI you DO NOT need to use another Hybrid. You just need to use another 980Ti reference card. I choose to go with two so I could keep my temps low. Now that I'm running two Hybrids in SLI my top card runs at 30°C while the bottom card runs at 25°C, this is normal according to Nvida. There is however a way to get around this which is to install the second card in the 4th PCI slot instead of the 3rd but not all motherboards can do that without performance degradation. Unfortunately, my board wont allow it so I have to stack them together. Newer mobos from a reputable manufacture can usually do it but you would want to research it prior to making the purchase.

Style Name: GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ w/ BP Verified Purchase
My EVGA GeForce GTX680 SC SIGNATURE 2048 MB GDDR5 DVI DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort 4-Way SLI Ready Graphics Card, 02G-P4-2683-KR held up for 3 years, but could no longer keep up with the next gen gaming. 2 GB of video memory is no longer enough, and I can see 6 GB being used by some game 3 years down the line.

I needed a card that sits exactly how my GTX 680 sat, mainly due to the power pin cabling position. As my photo shows, this EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti ACX SC+ ACX 2.0+ Graphics Card with Backplate 06G-P4-4995-KR works perfectly (as my 680 had a backplate too, made sense to get another backplated as well).

My 3DMark Fire Strike score doubled with the 980 Ti (from 7187 to 14933), right out of the box boosted to 1316 MHz @ 1193 mV, which may differ, as mine came with an ASIC of 74.4%, with the rest of my computer setup:

Corsair Graphite Series 600T (Mid Tower)
OCZ 850W ZX Series 80 Gold Plus
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe (BIOS Version 2104)
Intel Core i7 3770k (4.5 GHz @ 1.20 Volts)
Corsair H100 Liquid Cooling (Standard push from topside, radiator below inside case)
16 GB Corsair Vengeance (XMP 9-9-9-24 @ 1600 MHz )
500 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD
Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)

For this upgrade I also decided to upgrade from 1080p, going to a

Style Name: GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ w/ BP Verified Purchase
EVGA has set a standard on selling overclocked cards on the market with super cool and silent ACX 2.0+ fans. They are great for guys like who don't want to spend more time tweaking and using modded coolers.

My current card GTX 970 which I have been using for last 3 months and I have the exact SC+ ACX 2.0+ edition of 970. My idea was to add another GTX 970 SLI down the road. But this idea of mine changed on June 1st after reading reviews of GTX 980 Ti. The reason being this card is so good with identical performance of Titan X with half the RAM. I always love the price vs. value in buying any product and felt Titan X was untouchable for me. Yes you don't need 12GB of RAM with most of the tools and games in the market and current games at 4K are hardly at 4GB of RAM.

My configuration is i7 4790K, 16GB RAM and SSD with Windows 10 Preview, Professional 2K monitor.

Pros:
1) Installs right out of the box on Win 10
2) Super fast video editing and rendering compared to GTX 970 on Video Editing (premiere pro CC)
3) See a little to no difference on Photo editing with Lightroom CC/Photoshop CC - Did a 18 image 14-bit RAW files stitching and noticed a slight improvement.
4) Able to play Ultra high settings on games with frame rates stays above 60 most of the time (Gaming usage is secondary). Previously I couldn't get to Ultra on Far Cry 4 on GTX 970, now I can
5) Runs super cool during Gaming and Video editing compared to 970 - Max I saw so far is 81 but Idle temps are 26-32
6) I see a huge improvement on noise level with this card compared 970 this card is much quieter which is always a big plus as you don't want to hear your GPU soundtrack while playing games.
7) Can't beat price vs. value you get with single GPU on the market.
