This is the same card as the 015-P3-1580-AR GTX 580 . The difference is that this model, 015-P3-1580-TR (pay attention to the TR at the end), only comes with a two year warranty. EVGA graphics cards with the version ending in AR come with lifetime warranties.

My advice is to get the AR version instead of this one so that you can get the lifetime limited warranty EVGA is famous for (among other things EVGA is famous for).

DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR CARD ON EVGA's WEBSITE WITHIN 30 DAYS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE WARRANTY!!!

This is not a review of this specific card but rather a warning to persons looking to purchase it used from Amazon.com. That is why I awarded it 5 stars; I'm sure it's a great video card when you receive a working model.

I bought this card from Amazon.com in "Very Good" condition. It had the return request from the last person to own it who claimed the screen went black when playing video games. I can confirm that the screen indeed does go black.. and the reason for that is the fact that it has a non-functioning GPU fan. The fan does not spin at all, so when you are playing a game the card heats up until it gets too hot and then turns itself off. Now I understand that Amazon.com is not solely a computer technology company, but to resell an item that is clearly useless in it's current form as "Very Good" has extremely marred my viewpoint of Amazon.com's Warehouse Deals segment.

The vendor I chose, "Divine Lite" packaged a 9800TX board in the GTX580 package, I guess, thinking I wouldn't notice. (In fact, I didn't notice at first, because the cards look the same except for some graphics stuck on the plastic cowling.) But, when I put it in my computer and checked the NVIDIA control panel to see what I had, sure enough it was a 9800GX. Not that this is a bad card. Its just NOT THE CARD I ORDERED and its only worth about $150, not the $300 I paid! And it didn't have the amount of video ram or CUDAs to run the software I need to run (Adobe AFter Effects and Adobe Premiere.)
By the way, the GTX 580 requires a 650 watt power supply. It also requires 2 6 pin PCI power cables from the power supply. I ordered the Corsair TX 750M. Its modular, with a bunch of detached plugs to choose from. Its a bit larger than most power supplies, and I was barely able to get it in a standard sized Gateway tower. But it runs quiet and cool.
