This is a outstanding card, an absolute beast of a gaming card! It's disappointing to see all of these negative reviews, because people are just complaining about the shortage of inventory, and the price gouging going on, not the card itself. This inventory issue has nothing to do with the performance of this card. This is a top shelf, A+, enthusiast grade graphics card. The GTX 1080 is best single gaming graphics card you can buy right now. Period. And IMHO, this EVGA FTW 1080 is the best GTX 1080 out right now.

I was very pleased with the looks of this card, and with the size. It's not small by any means, but it's shorter than I thought and easily fit in my Corsair 540 case. Just make sure you have two 8-pin power connectors, and a good quality 600w PSU.

Performance wise, I was blown away. I test played BF4 for almost 3 hours after getting everything installed and updated, and I'm talking about on a Dell 27" 4k IPS monitor. I got a solid and rock steady 60FPS on BF4 with all Ultra settings (no V-Sync either) in 4k!. It's bumping up against or matching the refresh rate of 60Hz obviously, but the frame rate didn't dip or drop down. It was weird like the card was actually being held back by the 4K monitor's 60Hz refresh. Astounding. Very impressed. The card's clock seems to boost automatically to over 2000MHz and is very quiet. I mean really almost completely silent. EVGA updated their Precision X "OC" app for Pascal, and it works great. This card runs very cool. While gaming with a 55% fan profile, the card stayed in the low to mid 60s (C) and was silent. This is a very attractive card and the backplate looks great too. You can use the Precision X app to set the RGB colors and make them kind of pulsate with several different colors.Read more ›

DO NOT PURCHASE! THIS CARD WILL DROP SIGNIFICANTLY IN PRICE POINT AFTER 10-15 DAYS!

Ladies and Gentlemen of Amazon, these cards are released on May 27, 2016 at a $699 price point for an early release "founders edition"

The "HYPE" is real! It is an amazing card, hence the 5 stars, it's the flagship video gaming card... HOWEVER!!! READ ON!!!

This is the first time NVIDIA will be competing against partners like EVGA to sell the card directly.

This means their cooler design with the "Vapor chamber" that they try to upsell you to the $699 Founders edition for IS NOT WORTH IT EITHER!

PLEASE WAIT UNTIL THIS CARD DROPS TO THE REASONABLE $599 MSRP THAT IT SHOULD BE!

On a side note,

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE IN ANY MATERIAL OR DESIGN USED, BETWEEN THE FOUNDERS EDITION CARDS, AND THE REGULAR CARDS SHIPPED SHORTLY AFTERWARD.

The Founder's edition is another way of saying Reference Card and another way to charge those who want the card on the very first day, an extra 100 bucks.

Partners like EVGA will come out with Custom Cards with liquid cooling and so forth, for around the same price point.

These cards will come factory overclocked and superclocked, and will have different types like the "Kingpin" edition which uses premium copper for heat dissipation on the 980 Ti

Please wait, be patient for 14 days, and then order a custom card from NVIDIA partners.

That is my best advice to you Amazonians.

This card is fantastic. I'm coming from 14 years of AMD builds and since Vega is a ways off I decided to try team green. I am not disappointed. Currently running with a x34 at 100hz and at ultra/max quality this card doesn't even break a sweat even running at stock speed. It's also able to power the Vive and Rift with ease. The LEDs look great, the one small con however is white actually looks a bit blueish, regardless the ability to change the colors is great, and I'm able to get my entire build matching.

In addition EVGA is a great company, I was able to extend my warranty and get added to a program in which they send you a card before you you even have to ship yours out. As someone who always buys AMD xfx is my go to for team red, but I was not disappointed at all by EVGA for team green.

Beware some FTW have an issue where screen will go black and Fans will go to 100%

Google "Evga GTX1080 FTW black screen 100% fan" it to see the number of people having this issue.

After reading all the reviews that are positive about EVGA, i finally decided to jump ship from Asus to EVGA, not a great first experience.

:(

Edit: Got a replacement been running smooth. However EVGA cheaped out on thermal pads, and recently released a bios update to spool fans faster. Another issue.

From a 745 to a 1080 its amazing GPU. 5 stars!

I have the HP ENVY Phoenix 810-430qe with 32 GB ram and a i7-4790 Intel core processor. No custom rig but I got it
for a decent price. Long story short it came factory installed with a Nividia Geforce GTX 745.

I'm a hardcore gamer, do video editing and render a lot of images and with a GTX 745 it just was not durable anymore so I decided to
do a major upgrade. Now let me say for those who do not have a custom rig it is very possible to install
an EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 into an HP ENVY Desktop if your tower has the right measurements. The GTX 1080 is about 10.5 inches in
length and fit perfectly with room to spare.

The reason I chose to get the Founders Edition instead of the
custom GTX 1080s coming out is because of the cooler design for airflow. The GTX 1080 Founders Edition ejects heat from the rear
of the tower instead of storing it within the tower which is a very big deal especially if you have a smaller tower like I do.

If you can afford the extra $100 bucks do not hesitate. Its very fast as in it renders images and plays any game easily without any struggle
depending on your game settings.

I've tested some benchmarks myself with everything turned up on ultra settings and it handles 4K very well with overclocking of course.
Only games tested so far is Doom( 55 fps), Grand Theft Auto V( 59 fps), and The Witcher 3 (44 fps) very impressive on a single gpu.
To add, it handles anything below 4k with no overclocking no problem at all every game 60fps and up.

Overall a great card I love it does exactly what I want and more.
Managed to preorder from Amazon at the $699 price (of course) and shipping was surprisingly fast.

Pros:
-Great for rendering, video editing and 3D software
-Amazing cooler design
-Very easy to install
-Sleek design

Cons:
-None coming from a GTX 745
