For an upper-mainstream card, this thing is perfect. It plays Far Cry 3 at 2560x1440 at 50-60fps, and virtually every game I own plays as smooth as butter. It's quiet, doesn't consume a ton of power, doesn't generate too much heat, and even works very well in Linux! For me, it's currently the sweet spot of perfection for video cards.

A large video card with dual fans for better cooling, yet nearly silent even at high loads.

PROS:
DDR5 speeds
"Backward" compatible with PCI-E 2.0
Almost no noise.
Great Driver's support

CONS:
Just big enough to almost block the right air flow inside my case (an old ATX-size case)

I've had a Thermaltake Lanbox since 2003 or so, and I love it, with one exception: video cards don't always fit. Anything over 10 inches bumps into the drive cage. So this card is a nice addition to my cramped little gaming rig.

I decided to go with this card for two reasons: 1) EVGA makes good cards, and has good service, and 2) it fits in my case.

I've had it for a few days now. It's a lot quieter than my old Radeon 5770HD, and it gives me much snappier performance in my gaming. So-so graphics now look amazing, and my box sounds more like a computer, and less like a vacuum cleaner.

Installation was relatively painless. One thing: remove the covers over the ports before you plop it in, or else you may have trouble getting it to fit properly. (The HDMI cover was rubbing up against the back wall of my case, so I couldn't screw it down until I removed it.) You can always put the covers back on after you install it.

You probably don't need most of the drivers on the included CD. Do a custom install and then search for each program it wants to install to avoid gunking up your system, and only install the ones you *really* need.

Got this card to replace the HD6870 that came with my XPS 8300. I got this version specifically for the cooling system, and the fans are whisper quiet. Gaming temps when playing Dishonored on high settings barely cause it to go over 60C. Installation was a breeze, with no problems fitting inside the XPS, although I would be careful when installing. The plastic shroud isn't the sturdiest thing in the world, and does bend somewhat under force. Something to be mindful of. The card requires a single PCIe power connector, unlike my old 6870 which needed two. I would highly recommend this card.

The card seems to support all mid-level video settings on all games played and no lag using maximum settings for a select few games we have tried, primarily League of Legends (by Riot Games). The heat sink spans the larger part of the card and it has dual cooling fans --- this feature alone is what led to trying this one out. It is the same typical NVidia Chipset for the GTX 660 but the cooling tipped the scales for us. Really nice card. Does what we need it to do in both Windows and Linux. No complaints. Would buy it again, if required.

EVGA makes good products, anyone I know that has used them has had no complaints. This card can play Witcher 2 on high spec with absolutely no problem. If that doesn't tell you anything then you might not need one this powerful, but always better to have power you don't use then need power you don't have. Best price/spec ratio I could find and Amazon was slightly cheaper than Newegg, who's service is just as good.
The only down side to it was really my case, not the card. Had to snap a small piece of plastic out of the way to get it to go in and had to squeeze in a small washer or two so it would sit level and not move around. That's what killed my last card, I think, the fan not being level eventually died and then the card kept overheating. Thermaltake V9 black Edition is not recommended if you have a gaming graphics card.

My last pc build was in 2009, and well, I needed to do a full upgrade. I originally bought a GTX 650 for my new build and was not impressed (total POS), and so I sent it back to amazon and bought this baby. This card blows through all my games on ultra high settings and 1080p with ease and all with the full 59-60.1 fps. I was used to lowering my settings with my old gtx 285 with newer games, but not anymore. The 285 was a great card when it came out, but this thing is far superior. Playing Skyrim on my friends xbox 360 then on my new pc build really showed the graphics difference. This card destroys all current gaming consoles. Just be sure to pair it with a great mobo, psu, and processor.
