If you are as curious as I was to what the difference of single vs twin fan cards are, I found the simple answer browsing some PC build forums.
Basically, a lot of it boils down to looks, and the rest is how far you can overclock past stock.
-PC enthusiasts love beefy, expensive looking cards and equipment to fill out their towers, and twin cards deliver with their bigger case, lights, and backplate. Single fans don't have any of that, but are cheaper as a result.
-Single fan cards also don't stand up to overclocking as much as twin fans because of heat dissipation. That's not to say single fans aren't adequate out of the box. If you don't plan on overclocking, a single fan is just fine and will never overheat. Running at full power on max settings playing OW makes the GPU top out at 72C. If you'd like you can also alter the fan speed settings within the Bios to keep the GPU cooler or quieter.
You really don't need a twin fan model, or really anything above a 1060 if you're a basic gamer that doesn't care about looks and just wants a high performance card you don't plan on messing with. I'm playing on a 144mhz monitor and get 160FPS playing Overwatch on Ultra, and about 100 on Epic. TF2 is beyond easy to play at max and Subnautica looks absolutely beautiful on topped out graphics with no stuttering. My tower is in a somewhat confined space as well and the card has never overheated even in 5+ hours of non-stop gaming.
UPDATE: I downloaded the "Precision X" Bios from EVGA and updated the card. It's now faster then ever. Even on stock tune and no overclocking the card is now peaking at 2012mhz, WAY higher than advertised and higher than any stock clocked 1060 on the market. I'm loving this card more every day.
One thing I would consider adding is functionality for SLI.. I get these types of cards are meant for SFF but even with some smaller cases you would be able to install two of these in SLI... That would be awesome.
Cons: This thing runs really hot, the cooler is horrible. It idles around 50-60C, while maxed out for a little while it runs up to around 83C and thats with it not overclocked at all. I realize this is probably within acceptable levels but it still makes me a little uneasy, you could definetly feel the heat coming off of it much more than anything else on my pc. In order to compensate for this i drastically increased the fan curve on the card and added two other fans to my case, one directly below it raised a bit so it doesnt rattle, and a second one on my side cover under my normal 240mm fan, which is a bit rediculous and brings the total amount of fans i have to 8 in my mid tower i put a picture of what i did if anyone was curious because it definetly helped lower the temps by like almost 20C. but doing this lowered my idle temp to around 35-38C and under load for a period of time i havent seen it rise much above like low 70Cs. It also raised my case fan noise by like 100% though lol. Eventually here ill probably get an aftermarket GPU cooler and get rid of this rediculous fan situation i got goin on in my case here. I would recomment getting the dual fan version or even the OC version which i heard its a similar heatsink and fan setup just with heat pipes which will probably make a decent difference.
Great card and I love the small size! I don't plan to overclock because of heat and power restrictions, but I won't need to for many years to come. Totally recommend to any avid gamer.
Not the fastest..........but for the money great buy.
By the way the card feels like real quality in your hand.
PS: Installed perfectly in Xubuntu 16.04 with two clicks of my mouse to download and install proprietary drivers from Nvidia.

It is too hot and noisy due to such poor cooling system:
