So first off, I have the Titan X and was tired of waiting to get the TX version of the cooler so I just got the 980 version. All the same parts, just the shroud looks different i.e. silver accents instead of black and says 980 instead of Titan X. So if you were wondering if it would work for your TX or 980 Ti, the answer is yes it will. :)

Installation was easy, seriously, the most difficult part was removing the reference shroud parts. The EVGA shroud fits the card beautifully, now keep in mind that this kit does not come with a backplate so take care when fiddling with your card if you don't already have one. after installing the cooler I plugged the card in and started up my system with no problems at all. The pump will be real noisy at first but once it's ran for about 5-10min it quiets down and you won't here it again, atleast that's been my experience. So let's go onto to the important part, temps:

Before:
-idle ~36, load ~83+
After:
-idle ~24, load ~45

That load temp of 45 is after a while of benchmarking and it struggled to get even that high, so was/is this a worthy investment, for sure as now with this I will have no problem safely OC'ing without worry of throttling from dangerous temps.

Man ... I'm familiar with this sort of cooler as I and others at overclock.net were zip tieing AIO coolers on our GPUS long before there was a mass produced version....

But I think this one cools even better than those I've modded myself.

As others have mentioned, I rarely see load temps above 50C ... *any* game (Borderlands, Skyrm, Metro 2033, Crysis 3, etc.) ...

I installed two for my SLI set up and couldn't be more pleased. And the pumps are super quiet as well ... I can run the stock fans at 50% speed and my rig is pretty much dead silent (to my ear, anyway).

Take your time removing the stock cooler ... as mentioned, that was the hardest part.

For what it's worth, there's plenty of room on the stock VRAM cooling plate to put some heatsinks on it ... I really think they help as the reference fan is still exhausting air that is over 100F ...

A thing of beauty ...

Got it sitting on a 980Ti but I wasn't a fan of how the kit's shroud looked and I love the look of the reference one, so I resorted to some DIY to keep it lookin closer to stock. It took a bit of doin but I managed to file down the side of the aluminum reference shroud (quite nicely I like to think) since I didn't want the hoses snaking under the card out from the window. Now I have the thing currently stable at 1487Mhz never exceeding 53 Celcius.

I was thinking long and hard as to how to liquid cool my reference GTX 980 so I can run my fans on low RPM, without breaking the bank, and without running it hot over long gaming sessions. Luckily EVGA sells this separate from their Hybrid card, so I decided to get this as opposed to a +$200 custom kit. Possibly down the line I will start a custom loop, but for now, this kit is a fantastic solution!

GTX 980 Reference Cooler:
Now the GTX 980 isn't the loudest reference cooled card I've owned (much quieter than my old reference 560, 670, and 680). Over my case fans, the 980 doesn't become audible until over 50% fan speed. But even at 50%-60%, the cooler on this card can keep the core temperature at around 70°C, never exceeding 75°C with an ambient case temp. of 32°C in my NZXT Phantom 530 case while running games (BF4, GTA) or Heaven Benchmark:

Ambient case temp: ~32°C
GPU idle temp: 32°C
Fan speed: 30%
GPU load temp: 72°C
Fan Speed: 60%

The construction of the cooler is a work of art. I was very hesitant to remove the steel (or some metal) cooler because it's very modern, sleek, and very pleasing over Nvidia's previous reference coolers. Only thing I don't like is the green GeForce logo (green even with the LED off).

Installation:
Installing was a little difficult, only because the removal of the original cooler has some small screws the require great care when removing to prevent stripping. But with patience, it's very simple and straightforward. The original fan stays, and even the backplate can stay on since the spring loaded screws that hold the gpu heatsink are all easily accessible. If you've ever installed an AIO cooler on your cpu, it's very similar.

The best investment I have ever made , the kit is all in one cooling solution that is completely self-contained. No filling, no custom tubing, no maintenance. Just plug and play , simply you get the water cooling performance of a custom loop without the hustle , this kits is sold out everywhere , i ordered mine on 04/29/2015 and amazon send me an email that my order will arrive at May 8th , way sooner than 1 to 2 months shipping , i have 2 gtx 980 Sc from EVGA , my temp before the mode on full load is 77-85 i'm ruing tow in my system in Sli , the installation was self explanatory and it was fairly easy , the only thing you going to need is a coffee filter or lint free cloth and a thermal compound remover (i bough one from amazon ArctiClean 60ml Kit it was $ 7.60 to remove your original compound that came with your card, the thermal compound that come with the kit is relay good , the tubes on the kit is fairly long (see attached photo my case is Corsair 750D , after installation my temp on full load from over an hour is at 42 max , my temp on idle is only 28 , this kit is extremely quiet ,highly recommended for your gtx 980 , this kit will work for your EVGA GTX 980 or any reference GTX 980 .
