I had a lot of problems at first with this board. After talking with EVGA support they was able to help me solve the problem. It was a bad RAID driver. Downgrading it solved the problem and I haven't had a BSOD since (knock on wood).

I was also able to get the memory (16GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-17000 RipjawsZ Series for Intel X79 (9-11-10-28) Quad Channel kit 4x4GB) running at the correct speeds, voltages and @ 2133!

PROs

Nicely laid out mobo with tons of fan, usb, and usb 3 headers.
EVGA tech support is top shelf.

CONs

Came with outdated BIOS so I had to flash it from the start.
The BIOS is dated and not very user friendly compared to some others out there.
Would have been nice if there was at least 1 usb header located near the CPU for the cooler but that's just being picky.

I have been working with computers for over 30 years and finally decided to build one of my own. This motherboard was the foundation of the build. It required a larger case than most other boards. I used the Corsair Obsidian 880D. Since it was my first build I wanted lots of space to make my life easy anyway. I have been using the computer for 4 months and it has worked flawlessly. I love all the USB3 and on board USB2 headers, the easy access to all the connectors, and the 2 SATAIII ports which I hooked to my SSD drives. Even though it is hard to tell from the pictures, there is plenty of room for Corsair Vengeance Memory to fit in the DIMM slot and still fit a Corsair 80i water cooler for the CPU. It comes with a 20 inch by 24 inch two-sided visual guide which was all I needed for putting it together. The EVGA E-LEET tuning utility is nothing special but does the job. The EVGA web site is easy to navigate and easy to get all the latest drivers.

Choose 4 out of 5, as it didn't have the W8 USB3.0 Drivers, and this gave me an issue that I had to resolve by doing firmware update, practically out of the box.

Likes: Packaging, features, accessories, all super detailed. Very nice out of the box experience.
3-way SLi Rock solid, i7 3820 OC'd to 4.3Ghz super stable can even go to 4.5 or 4.75 using the Kulher 620.

Dislikes: Didn't have the latest bios out of the box, USB issue.

Recommended to anyone, looking for a solid platform that overclocks easily even locked processors should get this. Pair it with 2 OCZ Vertex 4 SSD's in stripe and get super fast and stable performance.

Considering the price of this product I think it is way underpriced for the performance it delivers. Leaving the issues of SOME USB 3.0 ports not working (There are so many USB ports that there will rarely be a situation that you will run out of them) this motherboard has served me well. BTW remember this is an EATX case, so before buying check your case if it does support EATX or not. Mine didnt but I modded my case.

Hard ware issues

Board arrived pretty as can be. Bios was out of date, didn't recognize above 8g, but allows for 32g, which I installed. 6 business days later, got replacement bios chip. Then Dimm slot one and two died and had to RMA the whole board. Customer service was decent, but not happy with delays and additional costs to me for their warranty issues.

I got this MoBo and I have loved every second of it. I know that people have had issues with these but I can say that this board is solid and holds up to the EVGA name. However if you buy this get an Intel NIC because the OB Marvell nics are as good as trash.
