For Christmas this year I purchased the EVGA super Nova NEX 750 B for myself as a gift
I received the power supply the day before Christmas and installed it in my system the next day. After carefully installing the power supply, I powered my system on and to my horror immediately saw a small fire erupt in my computer case.
I immediately pulled the plug and opened up my case to survey the damage; the plug going from the power supply to my hard drive was melted as was the connector on my hard drive. Additionally upon putting my old power supply back in, I found that my Motherboard would no longer POST.
I am an experienced system builders and have put together hundreds of computers (It’s actually what I do for a living). I was very meticulous in my installation of this power supply and was careful to ensure that everything was properly installed and grounded. This damage to my computer was solely the fault of my having received a power supply from EVGA that was defective.
The next day I called EVGA’s Customer service number and spoke with a gentleman named James, James informed me that if I wanted I could have the power supply replaced but that EVGA would do nothing to help replace the parts of my computer that their defective power supply had damaged.
I know that defective parts do sometimes get made and shipped and that mistakes do sometimes happen, but I just want to send this message out as a warning that if you, like me receive a product from EVGA which is clearly defective and damages your equipment EVGA will do nothing for you.

Valued Amazon Customer,

We're sorry that you're having issues with the EVGA 750B Power Supply. I see from our records we have already contacted you about this concern to help as much as possible.

Any component failure could case issues with other corresponding hardware in which you would need to contact each manufacture separately for warranty support.

Thanks for your review, and thanks for being an EVGA customer.

Sincerely,

EVGA Customer Support

I have been building PCs for over 20 years and I purchase many products because of the warranty and need.

Pros:
======
1. Great 5 year warranty what more do you want?!?!
2. Hybrid modular PSU. You have the benefits of a modular PSU and a standard pre-wired PSU. Love the options and price.
3. Great efficency. Love the Bronze rating and 80%+ efficiency!
4. Quiet. My graphics card and case fans are noisier than this PSU!

Cons:
======
1. It is a larger PSU coming in at 7.1 x 5.9 x 3.4 inches and weighing 6.8 pounds. This might not be a con for some, but for me and my HTPC it was pushing the limits of my available space. Measure your case first to determine if it will fit.

Great product from EVGA. The warranty is superb at 5 years. If it fits your case buy it!

** UPDATE **
Well at 1 year of moderate use the fan bearings went bad
Started making a clicking sound at startup
Got to LOVE EVGA costumer support though
They are cross shipping a replacement as I write this
Got to admit that I am a bit disappointed though
After I wrote the review I also went and bought a EVGA 780sc
So my gaming rig was EVGA all the way
Motherboard , power supply and video card
We all know that their video cards are top tier
Not so much when it comes to this power supply

feel bad for the guy who had a short and lost his MB
I didn't have any such issues
as a matter of fact it works great for me
modular is the way to go
only use the cables you need
paired it with a EVGA Z87 FTW and a i7-4770k and a already owned EVGA 560Ti Ds SC
BLAZING FAST !!
I LOVE EVGA !!
never had any problems with any of their products

Great power supply @ 750w and with 80 plus bronze rating this thing is actually quite efficient. Fan is very quiet, thick sleeves for good support of cables, only wish some of them were a little longer to route better but overall I cant really complain. I will say I like the way how they use the semi-modular design and the colors.

The spec sheet and product info page for this PSU on EVGA's website state that it has a "5-year warranty upon product registration." That is misleading. This product has a guaranteed 3-year warranty for the original owner. The additional 2 years of warranty are only granted to the original owner if the product is registered with EVGA within 30 days of the invoice date.

Let me say that again, because it is worth repeating. If you bought this product and did not register it with EVGA before the end of the 30th day from the date of your invoice, you have a 3-year warranty, not a 5-year warranty (according to EVGA's website). In other words, if the last sentence describes your circumstances, you received only 60% of the warranty you most likely thought you were getting when you purchased this product.

The truth of the warranty first came to my attention when I held the unit's box in my hands and read where it states the terms cryptically, with these exact words in a bullet point: "3+2 year global warranty." That's ambiguous, but a little better than claiming an outright 5 years of warranty. The only place where the actual terms of the warranty are spelled out, in detail, is on the section of EVGA's website dedicated to their warranties. Fair enough, but why mislead customers with product pages and spec sheets that are obviously overstating the GUARANTEED warranty that the customer will receive (without taking further action) and obscuring the fact that the customer has a very short window to claim a full 40% of the warranty period that is advertised (and implied as a guarantee)?

Another point of ambiguity with this product is whether or not it has active PFC (power factor correction).

Dear Mas Francis,

I am very sorry for any confusion as your product does come with a 5 year warranty if you are the original owner or a 3 year warranty if you are a secondary owner. If you are the original owner this is automatically added through a 2 year warranty extension and this does not require a 30 day registration. If you should need further help or if a system error did occur then I can confirm that we are here to assist. Please contact our 24 hour technical support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Amazon@evga.com and we will assist you further.

Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support
