Trying to decide between this one and the Corsair AX1200i. First of all the price, and second, I am not a huge fan of the buggy Corsair link software. The 10 year warranty from EVGA is not to shabby either. Once it arrived, I plugged in the supplied 24 pin tester, and let it sit for 2 hours. I wanted to make sure that I did not want to get up close and personal with the fire department.

This is the best value in 1000 watt power supplies period. Price/performance is insane (in a good way). EVGA used the leadex platform from Superflower, a very solid psu OEM, on this and the 1000 G2. The difference here is that this unit uses all top end Japanese capacitors, whereas the G2 uses CapXon capacitors on the modular cable pcb. Great OEM unit backed by an unmatched warranty from EVGA, a company with probably the best customer service in the industry. Can't go wrong here. Unless you hate the red pci-e cables there is literally nothing wrong with this power supply.

Just picked this up after adding another EVGA GTX670 to my gaming rig, like how EVGA is adding more options on the power side and makes it easy having more products all from one place. Really like the cables and there are enough connections available for my water cooling system and dual GPU setup.

There is a switch on the back that allows the fan to turn off when you don't need it on, helps will making my water cooling system even quieter and saves the fan life. MY old Silverstone PSU fan died, and my warranty was only 5 years. I got no support from them and i could not even buy a new fan from them, so stupid! NO silly software or connections to deal with, just a simple on/off, great idea!

If you are in the market for a new PSU and are looking for the best efficiency like I was, this is the unit for you!

If you are in the process of looking for a new power supply, it came down to this deal and another by Corsair. I based 100 percent of my purchase off what I was getting for the price, including (it in a new build). I don't regret my decision. Not only was it packaged nicely, but photos do aesthetics (of the power supply) no justice. The price, quality, and ..oh yeah, the TEN YEAR WARRANTY was enough to get the Evga shipped to my front door. Now this alone warranted a great rating (after running through consumer testing of course. But I have to tell you something.....I was working on the new build with a friend at 12:30 AM on Saturday before Easter when a newly purchased hard disk caught fire in my new machine, we were Husslin'!....Trying to figure out the a cause of the issue warranted calls to a few different vendors to figure out what the problem was. EVGA HAS 24 HR CUSTOMER SUPPORT...I couldn't believe it! I had a tech on the phone at 12:30 in the morning listening to my issues and answering questions. The problem ended up being a faulty HardDrive that was damaged. Guys let me repeat that, I had a customer service rep on the phone at 12:30 AM helping with the diagnosis of a problem that could affect my power supply. So if you are looking for the full package...I don't think you will be disappointed with this product or the Evga Support that was available and very considerate. Please feel free to contact me regarding purchase.

This perhaps the best upgrade that I feel like I've done in a long while. My old 850 W Thermaltake died recently (RIP, You have served me well). Right from the start the power supply impressed me with a bright orange "HEAVY" sticker on the box. Indeed, it was heavy. Heavier than the PSU that went out the door the day before.

Opened the package and it's huge. It feels heavy, sturdy, and very solild. It has a textured finish that helps with the

The Cable that goes to the supply is also thick. Heavy and I could hear the crinkling of the insulation and shielding. I've impressive here, too. The cable is not the standard power supply cable that I have by the metric ton collecting dust. Both ends are industrial-looking, heavy and firm. The connector is wide at both ends.

I whipped out my PSU tester and I was impressed with how everything fell in line. Not a variation of points like some other power supplies I've tested in my life. A lot of power supplies will be off a few points - but no. When it said 5 Volts, it meant - 5 Volts. Not 4.8 or 5.1.

So why did I buy something that I could get away with a 1000w or a 850w? I like to work off the model of "It's more efficient for a big engine to hardly work, instead of a small engine working hard." And I suppose that's been proven, a power supply at 50% is more efficient. In any event, I just like knowing I have the headroom for anything my cruel heart desires from my computer.

Buying it I was skittish. I went on between power supplies for days. Lets face it ladies and gentlemen, a bad power supply will destroy everything in your case. That's not good mojo. Now that I have it in my hands, I can say - I'm glad I did it.

I purchased the EVGA fully-modular 1000watt platinum power supply for $185. I previously had a semi-modular SeaSonic PSU that worked very well and still does to this day. I upgraded because I wanted to add another 780ti to my system and needed the extra juice as well as cleaner wiring offered from a fully-modular supply to allow for better cooling on the bottom GPU. I picked EVGA because it is one of the most reputable computer part makers in the business. (I buy nothing but EVGA graphics cards, as they offer wonderful warranties and are renowned for their outstanding and prompt customer service.) This power supply is no different and comes with a 10 year warranty. Knowing EVGA, I have no doubt that they will take care of the issue in the unlikely scenario that I actually have an issue.
While the PSU is on the expensive side, this is because of the 1000 watt capability which is on par with other manufacturers such as Antic, Rosewill, and SeaSonic (which as actually considerably more expensive at the 1000 watt power bracket.)
The PSU comes nicely packaged with a carrying case and many connectors (some red, some black.) I ran the red power connectors to my GPUs and it looks very nice. The wires look to be of very good, solid quality. The wires also have adequate length, allowing me to route them properly and get the CPU connector tucked away nicely, which I did not have enough length to do on my previous seasonic PSU. The 1000 watts of power are more than adequate to run dual sli 780tis at stock voltage (which you probably only need about an 800-850 watt PSU to do,) but it gives you plenty of headroom to turn up the voltage if need-be. The PSU runs very quietly and I cannot hear it over my case fans (even on the low setting, which is actually very quiet.
